Rear mudguard for M5 Shockproof

My rear mudguard cracked right across the middle.
A new one is not available from the suppliers for a while.

Does anyone know where I could get one (secondhand is fine)? I am sick of cleaning all the sand and grime off my bike.

Does anyone have any good ideas on how to make up an alternative?
I guess I could pop rivet a splint over the cracked area and reinstall it.

The mudguard fits a 20inch wheel (ertro 406).

Building my own bikes/trikes, I just tend to use what I have lying around!
I have used Greenspeed mudguards, MTB mudguards, that have been 'massaged' using a heat gun to decrease the radius, and a mate of mine has used corflute with success.
I'm not familiar with shockproof, but just had a look at a pic on the web.
Not sure if you have a carrier or not, but if you do, I would just get a cheap MTB mudguard, and fix it to the bike and rack using suitably placed cable ties.
That is what I have done with my latest trike, and it works a treat!

Thanks for the idea.
It reminds of a guy who once made trike mudguards out of hard black plastic chlorine or some such drums are made of.
At the moment I have taken the rear rack off the bike, but would be able to cable tie onto the swingarm.
Shall keep you posted.

I use coreflute for mudguards. I even cut strips of it for the supports. Cable ties hold it all together. They are durable, cheap and easy to do.

You can usually get corflute from sign writers, or even old real estate signs etc. You can buy it new, but if you don't need much, and you are going to paint it anyway............................

yes, Freddy F is right. I got mine from Coles for the asking. Painted it black. It was about 3 to 4 mm thick.

Cut so the flutes run longways and it will take a reasonable curve. Has to be held in position or it will try to spring straight. I use strips about 30mm wide folded into a U shape with the centre of the U cable tied to the mudguard piece and the ends cable tied to the seatstays to support the guard part.

Reminds me, my SWB still needs a rear mudguard......................
Been putting it off, we're in a drought ya know!
Might just make my own corflute rear guard, got a bit of it floating around from when I made a tailbox out of the stuff.
