A school teacher friend as requested that I ask the list if they can help with a query they have about the Munda Biddi.
As a year co-ordinator he is wants to take his student council leaders on an overnight or weekend trek. He approached the people at Munda Biddi to see if they have anyone who can lead them along the track as a guide and was told that they don't offer that service.
He was wondering if there is anyone out there that can lead a group of about eight teenagers and two teachers. Also both teachers know nothing about bike maintenance but do have first aid.
Any suggestions would be appreciated by my friend and his school.

G'day Todd,
Depending on when they want to go, I might be willing to assist. Just depends on when I'm in town.
Get the teacher to email me on graeme.hird@gmail.com.
Cheers,
Graeme

Thanks Sarmy, I have passed this on as well.
The surprising thing is that Education Dept or Sport and Recreation do not offer any assistance to teachers for these kind of activities yet they want kids to be active.
Actually I am not really surprised.

in principle perhaps, in practice the kids aren't allowed to play chasey or ball games at my daughter's school outside structured curriculum activies, ie not spontaneous play at recess.cricetidae wrote:

kids then receive theory lessons about healthy food & activity and "incursions" by street theatre troups expounding the virtues of same.
