G'day
Just a reminder this ride is planned for this Saturday, October 11. We are meeting southern end of the narrows under the narrows bridge in the carpark at 8:00 AM. Plan is then to ride via Cottesloe to Fremantle for coffee etc and then back via whichever route suits the returning riders.
I will be riding in from Fremantle if anyone wants to me up with me for the ride in.
So far myself and Perry are going. Other takers?

Can't help on the 8:00 AM; way to late really for me but with respect to the pace, the pace is the pace of the group. After all it is a social ride.Caelum wrote:8am is farrrrrrrrr too early for a party animal like me
That, and i'm not sure i'd be able to keep pace...

Great stuff. We set the pace to suit everyone as it is a social ride.reeves wrote:I'm going to try to get the day off work if so will be coming along. What do you think the pace will be?

All my fleet are off the road ATM...
Ricky Ricardo's BB has disintegrated (replacement en route from the US)
Went to true the Cross-check's back wheel only realise about 4 eyelets were cracking away from the rim Have new hubs to collect from Graeme but new rims & spokes are several pay days away
The XTC's front shocks started bottoming out with only about 3 or 4cm travel on the weekend - back at the store for a warranty job until at least mid next week.
... oh and my Mum is visiting from Bunbury o'er the weekend.
excuses excuses, I know....
on a bright note... the proverbial finger has been extracted and the Steamroller is at Quantum Bikes getting a paintjob after sitting stripped in the shed since January.

I'll be a slow participant too. (maybe 25km/hr avg or less)gsxrboy wrote:Just back from MotoGP action at PI, not sure how well I am going to pull up but I will say I am a slow participant at this stage.
So far I make that a definite 3 (Andrew, Perry & gsxrboy) and maybe 2 more (matty, reeves) plus I've sent a pm to toofat.
cheers
Perry

How are you feeling? All fired up for Saturday AM?

Also, if i do go(very big if), you lot will have to be aware that i've never ridden group before. ever.
And i ride a flat-bar
Just think about the lost opportunities ... the hottie in the night club or a ride with us. What would you rather miss out on?
To answer your questions:
(1) Around 50 to 60 km
(2) Not a group ride as such, more a social ride so that is not a big issue anyway
(3) Graeme rides his recumbent so can't see your flat bar being an issue

Wish I was all fired up. Still feeling pretty crook. So still not quite sure, have to see how I am tomorrow. If I'm going to be there I'll be there on time, so don't wait up or anything.

Post ride coffee somewhere normally, or what's the go?
I've gotta be somewhere around noon, so i'm not sure i can fit it all in
Time .... I guess a couple of hours for the full ride with coffee break. Matt do you have an idea?
You can easily bail at Freo or wherever. I ride in from Freo hence I bail after coffee at Freo.
Oh, nearly forgot. Coffee at Freo at L2(?) I think it is called. Bike friendly place anyway.

G'day
Looking good. I have the following coming or maybe coming:
Andrew (me)
toofat
Perry
Trent
Cray-
Caelum if he drag himself away from the blond
reeves
Matty if he gets over the cold and faces up to the challenge
+ mates.
Nice numbers.
The planned route is 7:45 AM for 8:00 AM sharp departure from South Perth, over the narrows, then Mounts Bay Road (path if folks not liklie road), through Nedlands (not that hill but), Claremont, over the railway lines, then out to the coast, Cottesloe, Fremantle for coffee and then whatever the returning group wishes to do. My recommendation is the headwinds along the river That sound okay?
Oh, there might be a bit of touring through Nedlands if I get lost
