Dutch rules allow mopeds (?) to be ridden on bike paths. It is the one thing that I have heard friends of mine complain about the Dutch cycling experience - they are often ridden by teens; no requirement for a licence below a certain power level I think.greyhoundtom wrote:Why are there motor bikes riding at a pretty fair speed along the bike paths? I would have assumed that full on motor bikes would be restricted to riding on the roadway with other motor vehicles.

I think I found the roundabout in google maps, or something much like it... its smack in the middle of Purmerend, at the intersection of Gorslaan, Purmerweg and Churchillaan (named after Winston I guess).

And so humorous watching cars give way to bikes as they exit the roundabout. Humorous in an "I have to laugh or I will cry" kind of way.
