Re: WTB: Shimano 600 EX arabesque rear derailleur long cage
Hi Are you still looking? How would I know if it is a long cage? Andrew
600 EX arabesque rear derallieur long cageyes i am still looking, the long cage diifers from the short cage in the distance between the two jockey wheels. The long cage is designed for triple cranksets or rear cluters with more that 28 teeth. If you go to velobase and enter shimano 600 EX rear derallieur thay have pictures of both kinds there. Can you post me a pic of what you have ??
Re: 600 EX arabesque rear derallieur long cage
I forgot that I had offered first dibs to another forum member if I decided to strip the frame down so will have to see what comes of that. If that does not work out, I will post photos. Andrew
Here's some pics. Just pulled them off the bike last night!!
Got a rag and ran a fly showtime amount of polish over the front edge of the front derailor as u can see. They would polish up awesum. The minutest bit of surface rust on the back of front derailor and on sum bolts. i had ago with sum very very fine steel wool and was coming off pretty easy... This stuff has come off a 1979 Fort'e (Peugeot Frame Rebranded by Mike's Bikes Gold Coast).. Has been in storage for numerous years... Also got some newer shimano 600 cranks (170mm) Cheerio
600 EX Arabesque Long CageA good find and almost exactly as i have. But i am afraid that the rear derallieur is a short cage it has a max cog size of 28 where as the long cage can go up to 34 which is what i need to get up those hills
Seems they are hard to come by may need to take another tack and search for a triple arabesque crank.
