Nibali seems to be cruising. Now with Landa out Valverde is the obvious danger, but I just think Nibali is a better all round rider and 'The Shark' has more tactical nous than Valverde.
Provided Nibali stays healthy i think in the final week his class and staying power will show out and its his Giro to lose

Boring Giro. Week 3 had better be good.

Boring partly because of the relatively easy course so far but also boring because of the weak GC field.

Contador should have picked this year for his Giro / Tour double. At least then Astana wouldn't be able to spend 2 weeks doing nothing.

Boring ?? Are you watching the same race ?

Anyway, I wonder what the result had been if Caleb had been on the other side of Greipel ? Probably no different as he probably put in enough effort to win, but was still close.

Roll on Stage 14

Happy to have been wrong, stage was certainly animated, just not by the expected riders. Still plenty left before Torino. Tonight's uphill TT should see some more shake ups of the GC contenders.

It was great to see Chavez take the win last night, plus time bonuses. He must be feeling good to leave Nibali behind on a climb.

Cracker of a Stage (14 that is) and a great result for OGE, but also some of the others that lost time.

ITT will be interesting

Wow, stage 14 was one of the best GT stages I've seen. Incredible.

ITT sure was interesting, 2:12 is a good lead for Kruijswijk & he seems to have the form to defend it. I don't think Chaves can make that up in the last week, but it will be good to see him try. Nibili & piti are down but not out.

I only got to see the extended highlights, but even they were enthralling. Those climbs and descents were outrageous.

Some fantastic photos are up on beardy's caravan. What a life that guy leads, paid to travel the world take photos and cycle amazing roads.

After the ITT, seems that Valverde recovered OK, but Nibali didn't.

Now he really has to attack over the last few mountain stages. He has the team for it, so could be REALLY interesting !!!

Cracker of a stage last night.

Chaves's chase (great efforts from Howson & PLaza) reminded me a bit of Cadel going up Galibier.

Hoping like hell that Valverde doesn't beat him to a podium spot. That would really upset me !

Kruijswijk has so much time to play with that I'm worried for him that he will keep attacking and following everything at the front when really he no longer needs to. Hope he doesn't blow himself up.

Just 2 big mountain stages to go, so I can't see Kruijswijk blowing up. I am with Michael about piti - a sudden improvement 2 weeks into a grand tour isn't at all suspicious

Piti's improvement came after the rest day so he "recovered" well, unlike Landa who must have made a mistake with his rest day "recuperation".

No, he didn't blow up, instead went over the bars :( - poor bugger.

Looking forward to tonight's stage to see who can survive all three climbs, would be great for Chaves to win it.

It's just about become the best GT in recent years.

A tame start but a brilliant 3rd week.

So is Kruiswijk out? Call me stupid but I can't see anywhere that he's retired. I figure you would with a broken rib but all the news I've seen is saying is that he's lost the lead..

What a shame for Chavez & OGE. Kudos to Nibali though.

I'd have to say one big factor was team support in the Mountains. Chavez was virtually solo while Nibbles always had numbers and always had people up the road.

Was great to see Uran try and help Chavez as well.

All in all a great Grand tour. It will be hard for the Tour to top that!

Agreed. I wonder if OGE should have brought in one of the Yates brothers to help out in the mountains?

Saving them for TDF, and less likely to hold onto them anyway.

Heartbreaking to watch Chaves not even being able to hang on to Uran's offer :(

Despite it being obvious that in a strong field nobody would ever make up 4 minutes in two stages to take the leaders jersey, you have to be amazed at Nibali's effort. Great viewing.

Brilliant GT, great to watch and LOVED Chavez interview at the end. Came 2nd and still rapt and no excuses.
He is great and despite not beaing able to support well in the mountains, the team still punched well above their weight.

Great effort & result.

I agree about Orica Greenedge's support. They were there when it mattered, and the team tactics looked faultless.
