Nice job. Just don't show it to the old guy next door, he might just want it back now :)

Yep, thanks uncle arthur, as mentioned before, the pics just don't do it justice! The bike rides really good, everything works smoothly, and the paint job is something else, it really is a superb finish. Very happy with the purchase :D

I rode it to the end of the street and back, just to check derailleur travel, and then I polished it daily until it went in the box. I didn't want to jinx it.

Nope - tech is all good in transition. :)

As the thread heading states, all that's needed is the fat lady, & well, here she is.

that is a great rebuild. out of curiosity.
what wheel set did you put on it?
it is running an 8 speed at the back yeah?
if so is the friction shifting ok with moving
the rear derailleur acrooss the entire back cassette?
i like to pedal

I believe the wheel set that uncle arthur put in was 'joyride', or something along those lines, no complaints, they seem to work well.

Yeah, there is an 8 speed on the back. Surprisingly there is no real problems with shifting at all really. Its only when you shift down to the 1st cog or up to the 8th cog that you have to do it with some momentum carried through the change, as sometimes it doesn't want to engage. Not really what I would call a problem or anything, just something to be aware of.
