Anybody got any suggestions for cheap (slow ok) freight Sydney to Hobart for a frame, wheels and a few bits 'n' bobs....?

Surely you could find someone willing to 'ship' it down on Boxing Day. It might take a couple of days to arrive...

e-go is a service I have used a few times (to send and receive). You get cheaper rates with a depot drop-off and a depot-pickup. I havn't had any issues.
If you are inclined, you could search from a truckie or traveller doing the route, but that is often harder and more hassle.

Perfect! I've passed on that link to the seller... Now I've just got to head north back to Tassie at the end of summer to look at my booty!AUbicycles wrote:e-go is a service I have used a few times (to send and receive). Btw e-go depot to depot works pretty well. I've used them a few times. Another I've heard good things about is Interparcel if you tk look them up and compare rates.

Nah, frame not made of carbon fibre, won't cut it I'm afraid... I sailed on a SYD HBA winner (after it won), even the toilet bowl was carbon fibre...ironhanglider wrote:Surely you could find someone willing to 'ship' it down on Boxing Day. It might take a couple of days to arrive...

A friend has used Sendle and was happy with itTrevtassie wrote:Perfect! I've passed on that link to the seller... I've used transdirect/e-go before and it's been fine.
If you get it sent to the depot I can collect for you in Glenorchy and hold until you're in Hobart next if that helps

Hmm one of them new fangled plastic boats. In 1995 I sailed back to Melbourne on the 1985 winner (well it would have been, but it got rubbed out) and the toilet bowl was steel.Trevtassie wrote:Nah, frame not made of carbon fibre, won't cut it I'm afraid...
