Good commute this morning it was nice and cool. after uploading last weeks rides I was in 9th as the challenge is very competitive and last week I was off sick one day (gastro bug) and flat for Friday and Saturday afterwards so no extra distance.

Feeling well this week and have lots of things I need to attend so it may be a 200+ week.

Hopefully I should pickup a couple of places.

missed a few days of commuting because of an off-site training last week (avoided 2 wet days and a heat wave too!) .. coupled with nursing a saddle sore (an unexpected consequence of this year's heat wave!?).
slowly regressing in the ladder .. down from 3rd to 4th now struggling to cling to 5th.

brutal competition.

Not a great week. Two work from home days left me 100km short. Hoping to sneak in some extras this week. At least my new taillight is mounted, I've a feeling I'm going to need it this year.

Cheers,

Cameron

Before the awkward questions start, we had our home Wi-Fi connected today. I may move a few spots....

Not as easy to extend the commutes whilst my partner is over here,.... and it will be winter when she heads back to Brisbane.. managed to juggle a few things to stay in the good books and stay in touch with the lead group

Busy few weeks ahead with the Saturday commutes to little athletics about to stop. I'm hoping that I can hold onto the top 10. The last few days have have been just wonderful weather to ride - I have enjoyed them and judging by the extra bikes on the shared path along the M7 i'm not the only one.

I am hoping you are too polite to tell your partner that she is interfering with your bicycle habit :D

I have been back at work for a month today and haven't driven yet.

Pretty happy with 918kms so far.

Ah well,

like all good things it would seem that my time in the sun has come to an end.

It was not exactly unexpected and I'll still keep plugging on though just to keep people honest.

Cheers,

You have it for twelve more hours, give or take. Strider looks like he'll keep me honest too. Cheers for being the rabbit

A lot of rain hitting here this week so my km's will be down.... a pain living 4km from work its to easy to not extend the ride when cold and wet

I hear you mate - it may not be cold here yet but it is still dark in the morning. The rain reduces the desire but the desire to not those above get away too far keeps the wheels turning over. But in your case maybe you should just take the rainy or cold days off so you don't get sick (this has nothing to do with the fact you are ahead of me  )

Getting cooler this week and with little athletics ending this week no more Saturday morning commutes but there may be soccer commutes instead. Not as far but more often so I still might be able to make the top 5.

Keep riding friends.

As usual a good week ending with issues. Nothing new wheels, new chain, sprockets and a Di2 rear derailleur (or just substitute $$$$$ for that buch of words :( ) couldn't fix.....so a bad week follows. Gotta lot of riding to do in the next three days to get back on track :D

Oh....and my hilux blew its motor after 19 years and 550,000 k's.

Sorry to hear about the hilux - it makes it hard to get the n+1 home (hard not impossible). Hope repairs don't cost too much.
Mugglechops it will be great to see pictures of the new bike - I am looking forward to seeing / hearing about it. I like the idea of them

Good riding over the last two days - with all the rain about I managed to miss most of it.

Repairs? Nah, retired now. Not a salvageable part on it tbh....it's lived a hard life. More a sentimental issue than anything else. Kids grew up going camping in it, youngest son started his driving life in it, started the business using it and so on. meh, life goes on. Until you price a new one....poverty pack S/C cab chassis is 50k now

After spending a night and morning trying to work out why I couldn't put a chain and cassette on a bloody bike properly (so it seemed), I gave up and took off to the friendly LBS. Worked out the derailleur was the issue pretty quick. I'd already priced a Dura Ace (AT) high 400's from Wiggle fearing the worst. Then he sorted a warranty claim that I hadn't even thought of but that is two weeks. So I gave them some custom and copped the LBS tax on an Ultegra unit for the time being. Their price on 9070.....$800.00+ ; along with an apology that they're stuck with that. Wiggle's rate seems to be cheaper than their wholesale price. Don't ask what the LBS tax on 6870 was :( but hey.....build that relationship. The bloke had me show as they opened the doors at 0900, I was back out riding at 09450.

If the warranty's accepted...good-o. If not, I'll try Duck's advice of lube etc. If that don't work I may change it.....tbh I can't tell the diff except to look at it so meh.

I'll have a look at Merlin :D

I've previously stolen lukeyboy's dura-ace di2 rear derailleur. can't feel the difference in the shifts. the only difference is the weight. considering ultegra di2 rear derailleur is about 200 from ribble/merlin. that's a lot of LBS tax
