Is everyone OK?
Postby Lark2004 » Mon Nov 17, 2008 7:23 pm
We lost power but it was restored about 6 hours later, which seems to be pretty quick in relation to how long some were out for, and also in light of some still not having any power.....
Luckily we didn't suffer any property damage, I just saw the news reports on what happened to The Gap

yeah it was up to the bus shelter seats... looks pretty hardcore. downey park also looked pretty wet... il be happy when they fix the ICB because its really stuffing up traffic... apparently 11 megalitres of water in the ICB, so might take a little time...yeah - i live just a few streets from northey. my street got flooded too - but i live on a bit of a hill...it was just bizarre waking up and seeing the water line a metre up people's fences...

Went through town due to ICB being closed and then just sat on the Centenary motorway for ages due to flooding. If I had of known before I set out I would of gone the long way around.
Annoying thing was sitting there and seeing all the cyclists whizz by on the bikeway! I was so jealous.

You've been having a bad run lately with your fight with the metal cage a couple of weeks back and now the mud wrestlingwinona_rider wrote:UPDATE! winona rider = late victim of flood.

i went for a tiny slow ride today to get my strength back and WOW! Brisbane is pwn'd. broken branches, sticks, various debris literally everywhere. My street got flooded, as did my band room. and i have a massive fallen tree (care of my neighbour) in my backyard that killed my hills hoist, our fence and at least 3 of my trees and i felt special, but it is pretty typical of the western and inner northern.
i am taking corners so slow. so scared of mud and dirt. i am suddenly a massive pussy. it sucks. hopefully i get my awsmness back soon.

After getting off my bike, walking past the tree, and going up the path beyond the bridge, I decided it was safer to ride home on main roads.
