Nice average!

I don't believe I've even gone for a recreation/training ride this year.... Though riding to work and back is a 82km round trip. I only do that once a month. If I can average over 28kph then I'm happy.

Did my 3rd metric for the year last weekend. My first two were so long ago I forgot they were actually this year and called my ride 'first 100 for the year' lol.

150km yesterday, and 120km today.

Hopefully the virus I caught has now gone completely. Apart from dreadful tired legs today, I could actually breath properly.

Well, I tried to do a metric century today. Ride the Bellarine, and I'd signed up for the 100KM ride. Unfortunately, the weather was atrocious and they cancelled the 100, only the 60KM ride was supported. Such is life, I would have done 100, but I can well understand that the organisers simply could not take the risk.

So, no 100 for me. The only other possibility will be if I do Around the Bay for the first time which I intend to do this year, and assuming I do Around the Bay, I'll do the 210KM ride.

Did my first metric century last Saturday - 100.8km. There was just over 1500m of climbing too.
I was pretty much a write off on Saturday afternoon and ended up canceling Sunday's planned ride as I was too tired.
Now I've done one metric century future ones should be easy right?

Snuck in a hungy before work today...and after my 25m drive to work it was only 8.15am. It was a very early start! Let's just say the coffee shop (also a bike shop!) across the lane from wk did very well out of me today...

Also did a 100k Mike Hall ride last week.

Number 3 metric up for the year.
Need to pull finger out to get that imperial up. Need to plan a route I think.
Rolled over the 2000 km for the year as well. Riding is progressing nicely for an old fart:)

Had a 3 day bike packing mini gravel grind on the weekend but due to having to work I combined day 2 and 3 together for a 140km ride, 80km on trails and 2000mtr plus climbing.... also had a 100km ride earlier in the month on holidays.
so far 4 metric centuries and in bikepacking mode 1 metric and 3 imperials

First century on Anzac Day - 100.4km.
Haven't cramped in a long time, but had a nasty one in the calf muscle at the 80km mark. (Woke up in the morning with it, and it came back during the ride).

Had a great two days:

Friday: Mooloolaba > Toowoomba. 222klm & 2500m+ elevation. And a direct SWesterly headwind...for the whole day  with a group of 5 riders. 70% of the climbing was beyond the 140k mark (Esk to Toowoomba). Hardest day on my bike, ever...

Saturday: After eating my own body weight on Friday evening ha ha...the annual "TooMoo" event (Toowoomba to Mooloolaba). 220klm and 2200up. Much better day (tailwind! :D ) and 100+ other riders to keep the spirits. Great event- if you are in Southeast Qld around this time of year it is just the best event and for a great cause.

Tired and sore today...but very satisfied with the achievement.

Metrics = 10 & Imperials = 5 (3@200+)

Impressive effort TheWall!

I'm doing ok with the metric century rides (12) but need to find some extra time to convert some to imperial (2 thus far). Recently had a 158 km ride but home commitments and lack of energy meant I had to call time.

Completed my 100km a few weeks back now with an avg seep of 24km, completing in about 3hrs 50min. My times would have been somewhat better if it wasn't for the difficulty locating water in the new suburbs I had to venture out to and drop in energy I had out there.

I bombed later in the day and the next day I still hadn't recovered completely.

I'llhave another go in a few weeks. :D

Forrest 10-Hour MTB race on Saturday. For logistical sensibilities, unlike most endurance events where the time limit is for starting a new lap, this was an absolute limit where any laps that over-ran it wouldn't count. So after an official race time of 9:33, of which 9:25 was moving time, the clock said I'd done enough. 142.1km & about 2700m vertical.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

My first metric century for the year this morning with a pleasant foreshore cruise on a perfect day. Also rolled through 3000 km in the process :)

Imperial century done for me, 30.3km/h average speed and a pretty silly TSS score. It was all just non stop hill repeats at low cadence.

Legs feel a bit wobbly.

Noosa 160 this morning. Not the time I was hoping for (wanted a sub 5hr and ended with 5:16) but 4 of us agreed to ride as a group in the event and one was not having his best day. No man gets left behind.

Metrics - 13, Imperials - 6

Had a ball with the Noosa 260. Took 15 minutes off last year and ended up third for my age group (60 to 69) at a leisurely 5 hours 23 minutes. That was 15 minutes and 3 places better than last year.

Completed my first imperial century on the Queens birthday monday. 194.6kms in the end, could not be bothered cycling further for the 200kms (some of my fellow riders did, some did not). My sit bones were not very happy. No other pains though, so I can be happy enough with that.

My third dirty 100+ for the year today. 6-hour MTB race, 130km, by far my longest in that time frame. To boot cracked the 100km mark in under 5 hours for the first time on the MTB. Relatively flat though, with "only" 1300m vertical. Contrast that to the 10-hour of a few weeks ago, only 12km further, but more than double the climbing!
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.
