I'm going to restore this old loop frame bike. I'm in WA, I don't know very much about it.
Things I do know:
Favorit coaster brake hub.
Pretty sure the original paint was green and magenta(possibly with a white/grey).
Frame stamp 33486.
Has a red, white, blue stripe above and below the decal on the seat tube(pictured)
I have a post on bicycle stack exchange with many more photos and a bit more info:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

unfortunately not Williams cranks so no help with year, the makers decal could be original or could be from a reconditioning, see if you can get anything from the decal along the bottom in the scroll.....
Ozpushies! for ALL Australian made bikes.

I made a huge discovery today, but I'm still not much wiser. The steerer tube has a guarantee sticker on it with the name "Super Yama" on it. I can't really find anything other than one forum post somewhere with someone saying they have a Yama bike but no information and someone suggesting that they may be part of, or related to the Nissan Cycle Co. which is another company I can't find any information on.

I actually just found this on the WA historic cycle club page, a list of WA manufacturers. I'm pretty sure that this is the logo on the seat tube. I don't know if all the Boans bikes were called bluebirds or not.

Yeah I think you've nailed it Justin. Google images for "Boans Blurbird bicycle" brings up the following from a gumtree ad. Frame looks identical to yours.JustinH wrote:I actually just found this on the WA historic cycle club page, a list of WA manufacturers. I'm pretty sure that this is the logo on the seat tube.

And do a search on Trove with filters for newspapers, West Australia, advertising.

Yeah, I spent some amount of time measured in hours yesterday looking at old newspapers on Trove. I even considered going to the state library where they have some old Boans catalogues. I didn't find anything that gave any more info online though.
I saw that bike on gumtree, it looks like it's probably a newer model than mine as mine has a one piece stem and handlebar. Mine also seems to have hand painted edging at the joins and lining done as well. There is partial script on the down tube that I can't make out but also can't see that it would spell Bluebird. However, I think I probably need to just leave it as it is. If it was a prestigious brand I might delve further to date it more specifically, but regardless of year it's not anything particularly special besides a bit of Perth history, which is cool in itself.
I'm going to get it powder coated and I'll have some decals made up like the original. I've ordered some spokes to rebuild the wheels, I'm just deciding whether I get the rims, handlebars and seat post powder coated as well. Chroming will be too expensive. I might be able to clean up the wheels, but the handlebars are too far gone for a simple clean up.
I'll call south side powder coaters during the week and see how much it will cost.
