Better luck than me. They said mine was crash damage. I am not sure I am willing to give this new one a go.

Patience. Let others do the Beta testing for you. How long did it take for the fraying and hole elongation take to be exposed? A year? Wait 2 years and see if there are any problems.

Why wait? There is a two year warranty on Cambium. Mine was replaced on the cusp of two years.

I approached Brooks directly with my claim and sent them a couple of pics with the original invoice. It was replaced without argument or inspection.

I have since bought a second Cambium, and I have reminders in my calendar to inspect them (and make a claim if necessary) shortly before the two year anniversary.

With the aud back above .80 these can now be seen as a nice cheap low tech bikepacking option....

It took 3 months.

I don't think an app has featured on this thread before. But this one looks interesting and could be a very useful planning and touring tool if it works as promised. It is not clear how far ahead it can predict the weather.

Epic Ride Weather

There is a subscription charge which is reasonable enough. Slightly more annoying is the 6 month expiry period.

Unfortunately Becker refuses to take orders online.
We like to talk to people. You won't be able to buy a thing here without talking to someone. We don't really care for impersonal interaction, and if we are going to make you something, we better be able to chat with you.
Very noble, but I don't want to be making calls to the US to order a simple down tube bag.

So I ordered one from Dirtbags.

Bottle Cage Double Adaptor
Image
The Bottle Cage Double Adaptor is a side-by-side bottle mount for maximizing your on bike water storage. We can't say that they will make you faster, but they do keep your bottles within reach, and they look cool.

I am keen to get one (or two) when they have them back in stock. Anyone else interested?

I just bought 2 of these bags(at a reduced price) they sit at one of the few places on my bike that are still free. They can be used for water and other stuff, I plan to use it for the battery for my powerful headlamp that I only put on the bike when going out at night and for the battery bank for my mobile when I use it as a GPS. No screws or elastics, I can just drop my stuff into the bag.

The bottle they show is a big one, a standard will just reach to the top of the black .

Check out the strap at the bottom going around the top of your forks

They are back in stock. Mine is on the way already. Jump in quick, they'll sell out fast. You can't order online. Email them.

It's commonly called a chaff bag. Not new. I already have two of them.

After more than a year of looking at options, thinking, re-thinking and putting money aside, I received a Kuat NV 2.0 — http://kuatracks.com/products/hitch/nvtm-2-0/ — bike rack this week.

First impressions are it is very solid, well considered designed and built. I am happy with the choice made, and can see value for the (quite hefty) price.

I put a couple different bike combo's (29" plus and 26" fat bikes, 29" plus and WSD 29") on it and took it out for a spin. After 20kms, I stopped looking in the rear view mirror and checking the bikes were still there.

I questioned the integrated (and removable) bike maintenance stand, called a 'tail doc' (I initially looked at getting a cheaper version without one, though not available in Australia), and have found it to be quite useful already.

I checked NSW regulations, and have ordered an 'auxiliary/bike rack plate' ($43) — https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transact ... ary-plates

Not sure yet how I will attach/mount it as yet.

I attach my plates to a customised with aftermarket LEDs Thule lightboard. The fine for obscured taillights is very hefty and far more expensive than is a lightboard.

More details and options on the B-Rad mounting bases at the company website.
Anyone using these or similar for mounting anything cage or similar on a suspension fork without eyelets/water bottle mounts?

Currently looking at options for mounting bags (possibly Surly 8 Pack rack or similar if possible) to significant others' bike with a SR Suntour XCT fork.

Sorry forgot to reply to this but I have 1 fitted to my bike.. I had to modify it a bit has I have a wide downtube and I also mounted it higher ... its bolted on using the lower mount and cable tied the top section.. worked OK on my test runs on some rough gravel and single tracks, I do just rub my legs on big climbs but i also rub the feed bags as well

Showers Pass have released a new version of their waterproof socks, the Lightweight Crosspoint Waterproof Socks.
While they may feel like regular socks, our new Lightweight Crosspoint Waterproof Socks are fully windproof and waterproof, thanks to a 3-layer construction. Features include a wear resistant knit exterior, a seamless waterproof breathable Artex membrane, and a moisture-wicking Coolmax lining.
