Cheap alternative to expensive cycle socks

Ah they have Ducati socks. Warthog will ever be very happy with that or won't touch them with a barge fork

I'm tempted to buy some, which site is best to get them from?

I have never owned a Duke but would now.
I always bought Jap 4 cylinders as they were a more cost effective way to satisfy the need for speed back in the day.
Not happening finance wise any time soon these days.

I could never afford a Ducati back in my cash strapped youth, if I did it would of been a Pantah 600. Nowadays I'm not interested in a luxury toy, I need my drivers license for work...

However socks won't cost me my drivers license

i have 3 pairs, i prefer the compression socks as the others are fairly thin, but that is just personal preference

Hmm - I decided to wear some work/casual socks on my ride on Saturday. I have some "proper" cycling socks and some other non-cycling sports socks that I ride in. However, I decided to wear non-cycling, non-sports socks on Saturday - just because the colour matched my jersey better.

I noticed the seam across the toes from the outset, and they rubbed annoyingly. It was only a short ride, so I didn't get blisters, but it was a good experiment from my point of view about the need for proper socks.

There are heaps of new cycling socks on eBay from around $2.50pr, no idea of the quality, for that sort of money it's worth taking the gamble I reckon.

Check out "Zeffs" cycling socks from Melbourne. Just got them online $30 for three pairs delivered. They are a fantastic quality summer weight sock with a 6 inch cuff and great modern designs.
I actually get offended when i see the price of boutique brand cycling socks, i'm sorry but your branding doesn't mean they're worth around $40 each !!!!! Cycling kit does not need to cost that much and people that pay that much are doing it for the "look at me" factor. It annoys me more and more the older i get!

Chipping in late, but what defines 'cycling socks' these days? What's special with them apart from all the colours and patterns? Sporting socks these days all advertise special performance properties. LOL

They usually have an extra digit in the price to the left of the decimal place...

In the lead up to McHappy Day they were selling red and white "clown" socks at Maccas for $3 a pair. Turned out to be extremely nice quality so i bought 5 pairs you just need to be prepared to look a little odd haha.
