the other week I calculated how much extra km I need to do to catch Jason... over 70km a week above what he rides... last year I could manage that but with my partner now in NZ I would be in the bad books big time.... but now that he is on holidays for 2 weeks maybe, just maybe there is a sliver of a chance....

I thought you done well taking the bike back in such a short distance... dont go over doing it getting back to work mode... short and easy commutes for a month or so

i need ~634kms to keep my run of 1000km months going so the next fortnight will be busy

I wouldnt do that... In fact if push came to shove I could add an extra 80km to that for a ride the other week that I could justify as a commute... plus a few commutes where the GPS hasnt recorded for a while... Just been having a good run of not having to go directly home plus having to up the km for next years Tour Aotearoa, you being sick and having holidays has helped and a long weekend today although I have one in a few weeks so thats short lived... we could have a fun 3 months coming up

Almost as much fun as riding with you cancan (you missed a Mondo last week).
No holidays been now and the end of the year for me. We do have a wet couple of days here which means direct commutes for me

And cancan has the lead. Well done
I won't be able to catch him if he keeps this up

The short weeks are coming up for me soon so will be an interesting finish, hardest part is trying to defer work travel until next year...

I know I don't post much but just wanted to say this challenge is one of the things that's kept my legs turning over this year (and the fact I don't own a car). I contracted Ross River Fever at the start of Febuary and didn't manage it very well so it's pretty much consumed my year, good news is that I'm finally past it and the k's and more importantly my health are starting to head in right direction again :)
Cheers to all involved, it's good fun!

Another 100kms and I will beat my total from last year.

One month left for me so will probably lose my 6th place.

endomondo website doesn't work on my phone any more (can't change the ride from normal to commute). we need to find a 2018 alternative. will ask kb if he can scrape the strava data easily enough

I got a monthly update email from Strava that included how many kms I had commuted.

It's the only time I have seen any data from ticking the commute button.

Things seem to have settled down - I had neglected to enter my rides for a month, skipped away from Graham, but still 600k short of caneye. Been a pretty ordinary year for me - 6,722km commuting last year, probably barely make 5k this year

I pay for veloviewer. You can show activities filtered by commutes. So it is possible

Thanks...that reminded me

Next 2 weeks will be interesting.... a short week and I have to taper off my efforts and then Friday try and ride an 800km gravel grind in less than 3 days and then back up with a week of commuting

I pretty much only have about 3 days left of commuting for the year. I should get to 7000kms.

4 weeks left of work for me but I need to work on hills so that may keep my km down... subject to the good weather continuing

Mate good job - 11 months and 7000kms - you are a machine. I have taken up swimming with my daughter (and others at our club) lately so have been cutting down on the kms to have some energy left on Thursday nights.

It is nice to have some different exercise and enjoy time together - as this daughter is my the oldest (17) there are fewer chances these days.

I hope to still hit 8000kms but that is turning more into a pipe dream than a reality. I might get to 7000km if I'm lucky; I might have to ride out to swimming which is a 25km round trip.
Not fast, no style, but still get there.

Hmmm, how interesting........

Shows our different riding habits though. You ride here there and everywhere. I only ride to work and back. :?

Yeah I have pretty much doubles my non work riding this year.

520kms in 5 days probably helped with that :-)
