Trail from Sparkes reserve along Darebin Ck and to Kew
Postby Mozziediver » Sun Mar 25, 2018 8:40 pm
The long awaited path along the last section of Darebin Ck is showing up on Google Maps as a complete link. Not sure if this is real or preemptive but I suspect the latter; I'll check it out tomorrow. The bridge near the golf course has been complete for a while, but I haven't gone any further along.

Just checked it out, and it is nice!
It gives me a way to avoid that nasty climb up to the Kew Golf course street.
Attracting quite a lot of patronage; cyclists, runners, pramists, and a skiskater.

That is all going to change soon enough as well - disappearing with a new underpass and trail connections at the Chandler Hwy bridge rebuild.Mozziediver wrote:It gives me a way to avoid that nasty climb up to the Kew Golf course street.

[edit] Ooops, wrong climb. But this Chandler work will significantly improve the Main Yarra Trail and connections to Fairfield.

Yes, that's a bit further along. But great to see those steps are going!
Awesome switchback they've designed.
If it's like the new trail, it'll be a gold plated switchback.

Checked it out yesterday, a very nice addition to the trail network.
I overtook some people going uphill once.
