Coomunity Rides in Adelaide - Tour Down Under etc

Postby MichaelB » Tue Mar 13, 2007 4:39 pm

Hiya,

Having missed out this year :? , a few mates and I are looking at entering the Tour Down Under wannabe's stage (shorter one to start with) next year, but was also wondering if there are any others in the Adelaide region, and/or if there is a group/club that would best be in contact with ?

The aim is purely social, and not competitive yet (famous last words  ).

Have been doing mainly solo riding, and riding with my mates on weekends (have heard of MegaBikes rides on Saturday, but that is no good for me due to family duties atm) so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

The BikeSAsite has a list of all rides on their front page - a pdf that you download.

I have since snaffled a Bicycle SA mag and will be looking at doing the last 3 Mini Slams (60, 80 and 100km rides), as well as the Sea to the Vines run (100km option) for this year.

Next year, may look at the Grand Slam series as well as TDU.

I also will be joining BSA to get the insurance cover as well.

Other than that, the local clubs are the way to go. Passed a race near Semaphore whilst we were out for our group ride.

Cheers
