Wow - 35 degree! (that's a link to c r c, but I found the Cell one) 25.8 bars are O.K. for both 25.4 and 26.0 stem, but my bar is a 26. Cell only lists one stem for 26.0, and it's $194.95. The current stem cost me ~$70. No-one is carrying 26.0 stems any more - they are all 25.4 or 31.8 DAMN THEM! It's also amazing how many shop assistants don't understand that 25.4 and 26.0 aren't compatible, and there are lots of stems which aren't marked.kukamunga wrote:You can get a steeper than 10degree stem. Try this one at cell bikes for only $20 + p&h. (though your bars are probably 25.8/26.0mm, not 25.4mm )

That's huge! Got a picture?munga wrote:sounds like you need my monster frame. 89cm from pedal to top of seat tube (on 172.5mm cranks)twizzle wrote:I'm only 191.5cm, but my pedal-to-seat height is ~105cm. The drop to the bars is a real pain - literally.

i'm 5'10" and comfortably ride a 53-54 with about a handful of post, and on my tiptoes, i was polishing the top tube. there's no way i could have sat on the saddle and rotated the pedals.
i bought it from an 'ebay reseller', who claims the 70 year old guy was about 6'6".
i'd imagine the original owner was a bit taller 25 or so years ago when it was built.
ps: sorry for the hijack

Good god you must have short legs. I am 5'10" as well. I have got a 56cm Berretto and have about 16cm of post sticking out and this is with a Brook's Professional mounted on top. I think I really should be riding a 58 or even a 60 cm frame.munga wrote: i'm 5'10" and comfortably ride a 53-54 with about a handful of post

Yep - I'm 6'3.5" and I have a ~93cm inseam. So - I'm guessing we have roughly the same torso length.munga wrote:ok. 5'8" now that i've checked.. 78cm inseam.
still short legged?

Shhhhhhh! I'm one of the watchers! I'm skipping that Bianchi because the TT is too long, but your frame is the exact size that the frame sizing calculations came up with.singlespeedscott wrote:G'day, I have got a similar giant sized steel frame for sale on eBay at the moment if your interested.Astley wrote:Hey Munga, you still got that frame?

That frame reminds me of one I saw on the bike paths last sunday. Some strange guy riding in pyjama pants had a big old Ricardo mtb-type bike with a similar sized frame. I asked him about it, but he had no idea. The head tube was sloped back at a similar angle too. I'd never seen one like it. Definitely early/mid 1980s bike.sounds like you need my monster frame. 89cm from pedal to top of seat tube (on 172.5mm cranks

There's a crack in the bottom head tube lug where the cable stop adjuster was brazed on, which runs from the edge of the lug and heading back up around the cable stop. It's done about 19,000km since I put it together, which probably wasn't bad for a cheap 70's HiTens frame. I've rung the frame guy, I'll pick up my spare frame next week (60cm, most likely a Repco Superlite but it was branded as an 'Ultralite'). In the meantime I've marked the inner end of the crack and I'll keep an eye on it until I can build up the other frame.
Edit: can't spell.

but really, that's rubbish. We get none of it because the choices are illusory.

Damn, that blows. Take solace in the fact that least you had the satisfaction of riding it to death.twizzle wrote:Oh feck, the frame has cracked.
