Hi there guys. New here but thought I would throw in an interesting fact. On page 4, that Allegro Touring Bike went on eBay about 5 weeks ago for a "Steel"...............pun intended.............................Sale price was $305.00 or there abouts if memory serves I threw a bid in for $250.00 but missed the end of the auction !!
Me ? Not really a tourer per se. I get about on an 07 Jamis Coda Comp. Cro -mo frame,carbon/alloy crown forks so no chance of a decent front rack but a pretty comfortable ride. I picked it up stock for $500.00 about a year ago, 2nd hand and well and truly "as new". Had 115 kilometres on the speedo !! Came with those crappy Shimano WHR-500 wheels on it so I got a set of Velocity "Deep V's made up with 32 hole, 105 hubs and DT Double Butted spokes as I am a pretty heavy 120 { on a good day !! } kilos. Rims are shod with the brilliant Schwable Marathon 700x28's which are brillaint everyday / general rolling around tyres. Have had about 15 kilos on the back also with no dramas and the frame is a compact effort too so nice and easy on my troublesome back. May not sound it but quite a sweet ride. Not too fast not too slow................Well, I like it anyways lol
Am looking though, after Christmas at dumping the car totally so might well be looking (AT) something nice and solid.................AKA LHT or possible a Fuji { I live in Wollongong and Spearman's Cycles actually stock or used to stock Fuji bikes so I may be able to get a decent deal !! } Have found this thread really helpful and hope to be a frequent-ish poster and visitor.
