The Wild Turkey from the Adelaide hills here.
First post you will see.
Couldn't help but notice the reference to my Chopper Lowrider Dragster flyer.
I have been riding with the Boneshakers for about a year. We ride friday nights and I have clocked up hundreds of kilometers on my chopper now.
I'm getting the cruise for the 25th up and running. Trying to get in all kinds of people. Not just the crew we ride with all the time. Get people involved. So spred the word.
You will see some classic hand made low riders. Over the top choppers. Op shop dungas, vintage rides, mutants, hard rubbish gold nuggets and twisted dragsters. Maybe a tall bike or two, tandems or double deckers. So all are welcome and you can ride anything as long as it is not normal
I organized a few rides in the late 90s with all my downhill mates. It was carnage. Blood and broken bikes, but that was cause they have no fear, bike skills and are super competitive. All those bikes came from op shops or hard rubbish. A good thing as we would ride them in the sea.
All the guys and girls I ride with these days are chilled out and just want to cruise. Adelaide has many kinds of underground bike clubs.
I ride with the bone shakers. Custom low riders.
A crew called The tonge of fire. They build mutant bikes out of almost anything. 8 feet high tall bikes! recumberants made from old BMX bikes. That kind of thing. check out "tonge of fire bike club" on you tube
The Knuckle heads from down south. They are into the 20 inch dragsters. Some of the best you will see.
There are lots of other groups in Adelaide like a bunch of fixie dudes. Some other classic custom mob too.
There is so much more I could say but I won't go on.
Basicaly we ride most friday nights. Meet at the weir on the Torrens around 7 to 7.30. We will be there this friday night 9th Jan. The normal run is along the torrens to the bay and back. But as it happens I just got off the phone to boneshaker Pas. We are riding something different this week.
I will see if I can post up pics from a recent mount lofty run.
Oh and check out a web site called "Bikerodncustom"

We ride along a bike path running alongside the sturt drain. It starts at the bottom of the southern expressway. Then comes out near the skate park at the back of the airport.
The drain its self has claimed many a victim. Me for one! So enter at your own risk, yet for the enjoyment of others.
We will all decide on a beach when we get there. We might hit the bay for pizza or yiros first.
Shaping upto be a good turn out.

I agree completely
It was remiss of me to post the suggestion and i would not want to be responsible for anyone thinking anything boneshaker or vaguely tongue related was a family fun day.
These people are not for the feint hearted.
I think thats fair warning without defaming the good name of two fine bike groups.

Its Wild Turkeys call but my two cents worth is don't bring kids to this sort of thing, no well informed responsible concerned parent would.

The teenage brats that have just discovered swear words and can't control them.
They have also just discovered girls and don't know how to address them correctly either......
a aA AHH AhCCHHhknuclheadsoooww
Umm the bottle shop stops......
Eratic and unpredictable loose cannons with tunnel vision.....
Some have very good bike skills some don't......
Some of the bikes are easy to control and some arn't.....
Bill will want to wrestle everybody......
Pas will want to kiss everybody.......
Girls might not have much on......
People will get hurt (I am shocked nobody came off last night)
It is quite a distance.....(not just between bottle shops)
Your ass will be sore.... (not from bill and pas I hope)
You might not want the kids watching bill eat a yiros...
You shouldn't associate with members of outlaw push bike gangs.....
Some of the tongue bikes are so weird they might scare little kids..
So its a shame it's not a great day out for the kids. Lots of the riders have kids too.
If you saw bikes like these when you where a kid. They would blow your mind. I'm all for everybody riding, but I can't control what everybody else gets upto.
Hope I havn't scared too many people off????
