Didn't post any flats here last year as I only got on the road at the end of October, but I did end up with about 5 flats. Hoping for a much better run this year...

Well I had 2 in the last 1.5 weeks one front one rear, but technically the first one was before 1st Jan 09 so that only makes me +1
30TPI road tyres i am suspecting i could officially win this if i keep the kms up, but will resort to better 120+TPI tyres if i know myself well enough and burn the old ones in a sacralegious manner...they were the OEM tyres...

mikesbytes. He has shares in a tube company, and permanent marks in his knees from kneeling by the side of the road replacing them. And at night, his fingers smell of glue....Jr Dacks wrote:Who won last years?

Check the first post in the thread. I've linked to the 2008 comp and put the results up as well.
edit: typo.

Jr, did you post all your flats last year? I noticed an absence of you towards the end of year.Jr Dacks wrote:Who won last years?

Same ride, within 1km of each other, different part of the tyre. I don't want to offend so I won't tell you what he said

Hmmm..... do we allow competition entry to non-members of the forum? I think Mr Moo needs to sign up so he can post amusing stories of the Fairy, but I'm happy to be told otherwise.moosterbounce wrote:Mr Moo - 2

That's why in 2008 I added the rule "anything I didn't think of" cos someone is going to figure out a senerio that's outside of the specificationstwizzle wrote:Hmmm..... do we allow competition entry to non-members of the forum? I was already running late and about 30km from home, so called SWMBO. At least I had the tube changed, and was just trying to pump it up when she got there. I've also figured out the cheap K-mart mini pump I've had for ages can't go past about 40 psi.
Perhaps most annoying was that I'd just finished the into the head-wind part of the ride and was looking forward to a cruisey run home...
1 flat, 298 kpf.
Simon.

Nail went through my rear tire heading down Spit Hill (heading north) > 60km. Luckily, no probs other than the flat and a small chip on the outside of the rim.
My Schwalbe Stelvio Plus' have had their unbroken record flattened (ha ha), the same day I make a recommendation. It's enough to make a rationalist superstitious. Mind you, I don't think any tire short of a monster truck would have survived that nail.
