Killer you just need more padding!
I would probably go snow showing more if I had mountains closer....they are 30k awat which is fine on a bike but can't be bothered driving...walking on the flat is just to easy...sure I could do a 6 hour walk but I would probably injure myself...next year I will take up cross country sking...good work out me thinks.
No didn't see any other cyclists ...only saw about 20 cars all up...quite a few beaver things and a few dear...very little else.It was so peaceful, just riding in a white out with just the wind noise thru my hat...very peaceful!.
It was apparently about -9 by the time I got home!...yes I was feeling the cold the last hour, but nothing too painful...just the sweat on my chest getting cold.Next year I will have even better gear.It is really only the toes and fingers that get cold...but 3 hours is a good work out in this weather...much more might be a struggle.
Wish I did have a balaclava...I was wearing a hat and neck warmer up very high but stil got a bit of iceburn on my checkbones.
Yes it looks like a skirt in the pic...but no...it is a very good pair of Fairydown water proof pants that where wrecked many years when a dog bit me on a walk in the back country of Queenstown...so I cut the legs off and they are great for riding in the rain...no wet bum!...and keep my nuts form freezing!!!.
Today is totally white, not from snow but from the fog freezing on everything...nice day for a ride as I think the sun may come out once the fog lifts
Yes maybee a bit...lucky my neighbours are all hiding inside with their shutters shut!.
Extra padding? I wear warmers when it's below 20. -7 would be suicidal
I guess with all the extra padding I would need, I'd get above 80kg
Keep climbing until the air is too thin

Maybe it's just your photoshop skills that need work.
So finally got into the garage today...still boxes everywhere...and what did I find lurking in a dark corner this little baby has been scavenged a wee bit over the winter but hopefully it will be rearing to go very soon...better start riding it in the next couple of weeks if it is going to get used in anger starting in March!.
It has been OK for riding since the first week of Jan...0 to 7C,seems like Spring isn't far away (famous last words!).
just for some perspective, i did a hills ride this week in 45.7! wont do that again....
as far as the minus temps your talking about, no thanks...

oh & a sweet Dragster...
It is funny what you get used to... -5 and below is painful but I can handle it for an hour or so.0 to -5 is OK but you do get weighed down with sweet which obviously never drys...and days like today, sunny and 4C are lke heaven
Well there you go!....you talk about how you never get punctures on tubeless and what happens!!!,to be fair the rear tyre which is the same one I raced on in Sydney did have a small cut in it (yep M7 gets me from the other side of the world!!!) that I was a bit worried about...but you know the old "she'll be right!"...well she wasn't.
Turned up for for my first race, signed on no trouble, rolled out in a lovely sunny day...cold but bearable....rolled the course 17km loop...sweet,windy but not as hilly as I thought...rolled up to the start line...80 in the bunch!!!!,I have to start in division 3 been a first timer, little country roads, this will be fun.Well off we go,we have a lead car and we take up; the whole road...but it is France so cyclists are aloud to force all the cars to stop in the gutter ...first lap is FAST...44 average,we catch Division 2 within half a lap and blast past them,to be fair there was only 30 in Div2.Sweet,sitting a bit far back for my liking but dosen't seem to be an issue as there is a lot of wind to deal with....look at my av heart rate...150bpm...pfff...start thinking it is time to move up and start putting the screws on...this is what I have trained for after all!...and a lot of people are suffering,we have lost 15 or so already...ok lets do it!....bang...rear tyre goes...grrrrrr...stop really quick, put the hole at the bottom...hit it with a canister....yup it seals itself up but too slowly and I have only one canister on me!!!!!!...crap can't race with 40psi or so in a tyre,if I had had two CO2 cans I would have been able to get it up to pressure again and have only dropped 30 secs....I think I could of got back on as there was still 60km to go...oh well, turn around and ride back to the car..dump my number and go home!!!....not happy...oh well there is always tommorow.
