Nice and sticky this morning...

Who's the fit bugger on the mountain bike who overtook me at Greenwood going south? He was doing a good 30km/hr and gave me some good exercise trying to keep up
BTW the new PSP at Princeton is lovely but for me is ruined by the Hutton St lights system. So I'll keep doing the Osbourne Pk detour.

I'd love to say it was me...but I wouldn't ride an mtb due to my allergies (that is, I'm allergic to them despite the fact that you can get carbon ones!!).
I'm heading to Canberra again today so did 30km on the trainer starting at 7.30am. I sweated bucketloads. Just weighed myself and was down 300gms depite drinking etc. Nasty tropical weather
Good luck riding home - it's gonna be a stinker.

Kind of lost interest after 40km.20thCB wrote:Did you end up doing 60km (20 there, then 20 back and another 20 back to airport)?Ant. wrote:Rode 20km to the airport to pick up Dads car, then realised I forgot to take the keys with me
Nothing like 40km in this weather to harden you up
It can wait at the airport until it cools down a bit more

Let Freo at 6:00 AM approximately, was walking by around 6:40 AM .... chain link popped off leaving me with a ~ 8 km walk instead of a 42 km ride.

Stopped off at Telford Crt to have a word with the workers at that site relating to the closure of the dual-use path and having to be diverted onto Telford Crt, and now around a dividing island, so you may have caught up at that point.
Though your comment relaing to the heat should have been this afternoon, as it was stinker coming home.
We need a secret handshake to identify forum riders (yes I know there are the shirts, but not all of us have them).

There are shirts? Where?!rolandp wrote:It may have been me, though wouldn't call myself fit. Was around there at 6:30am on a silver Cell MTB.

Yeah I went home around 5pm (first 80km day!) and that's the first time I've appreciated having 2 bottles of water on the bike.
Also I want a shirt with a logo saying something like "I'm going slower because I'm going further" aimed at all the guys who overtake me and are only going 10km or so

I want one of those as well!
Rode in this morning and had a layer of moisture over me by the first few hundred metres in Mindarie.
Interesting to see the Perth skyline obscured by clouds this morning.
Cheers,
Gary

BTW forumites - Gary has organised 19 suckers from our office to enter into the Freeway bike hike. Nice effort I say...
Some of the non riders have seen the big group doing the 60km & have nominated for the smaller 30km ride instead. Hope I'm there to see the look on their faces when they roll across the line!!! phew...
