Ultegra - it works!

Postby lemmiwinks » Tue Feb 24, 2009 2:39 pm

I'm using my future group ride/race bike to commute on so I've got a couple of shake down runs on it before bunch riding this afternoon. I ended up buying a Shimano Ultegra 42T chainring because that was all they had in the shop... Well this morning I did my commute in 16m 10s! Smashed my previous PB of 16m 45s, and that's not even taking into account the 15 or so seconds I wasted riding out the driveway, realising I wasn't wearing my helmet and riding back in to get it. So really my commute was in the 15m bracket and it's all thanks to fancy bike parts :P :P

Do you think the steel 52T chainring beside it cancels out the Ultegra goodness? Maybe it was the upgrade from my usual Huffy chain to a Shimano one that did it.

That symptom sounds like the onset of upgradeitis! Call the doctor quick.
