Bushfire Appeal Auction
Postby gorilla monsoon » Mon Feb 16, 2009 2:45 pm
It is a souvenir jersey from the January 2007 "Amy's Ride", the memorial Amy Gillett ride. The Uno-brand jersey is white and as well as all the sponsor graphics this particular one sports the autograph of champion cyclist Robbie McEwen.
It has never been worn but should anyone want to wear it it is a size large.
Please bear with me because I'm kind of making-up the rules as I go along but the best way to do this, I think, will be to keep the bidding open until close of business (5pm AEDST) on Tuesday, February 24.
The highest bid by that time will secure the item and the bidder also agrees to add another $5 (in cash or a separate money order) to cover postage anywhere in Australia (more for overseas).
The successful bidder will pay by bank cheque or Australia Post money order made out to either the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal or Salvation Army Bushfire Appeal. No personal cheques or cash will be accepted.
I live in the Newcastle area and, if requested, will ask any of the Newcastle forum members to oversee the end result and verify that everything is above board.
If someone can tell me how to post pictures here I will do so on Wednesday (I am away on business tomorrow). Sorry, but I really don't know how to do it.
So what is there to say other than: "what am I bid for this unusual piece of cycling memorabilia that comes from one good cause to aid another?
"Do I have an offer?"

But neither of us will be wearing it - it will be going to the framing shop "soonish" (read: when I can sneak it out of the house ). I've already decided that it will be hung next to the trainer to remind me about my heroes, and what cycling means to me.
I'm one happy rider.
Thanks Gorilla
