Here are the nationality figures of the MENS peloton as quoted from the Autumn issue of Ride Cycling Review magazine:
Protour - 20 squads, 557 riders, 39 nations.
The nations with the most riders are:
99 - France
84 - Spain
78 - Italy
53 - Belgium
42 - Germany
32 - Netherlands
25 - Australia
19 - Switzerland
14 - Denmark
14 - US
12 - Russia
11 - Kazakhstan
The oldest dude is 39 (Laurent Brochard AG2R)
Youngest dude is 21 in November (Aussie Matt Goss CSC)
Average age 27.8
There are 8 sets of brothers!!
I found this really interesting. Certainly expected more from the US though...

The Brits are at the Velodrome
If the R-1 rule is broken, what happens to N+1?

I'm sure someone with time on their hands will work out a % of total population - would make Aus look really good compared to the US. Me? I've got real work to do
Bit scarey that the oldest guy was 39...there is hope yet for some of you blokes

I only have access to the magazines...not the teams themselves so can't tell you.
I reckon we do pretty well though.

Two Brits are going to be fighting it out at the first time trial in London at the start of the TdF. It's odd to even think of starting there, let alone the prospect of seeing British names at the top of the field...
I wonder how the Basque guys feel about being included under Spain.
Bring on the Tour! Giro is done, some hearts were broken in the freezing mountains, and the Dauphine is underway...

Wasn't Napoleon Corsican?
They don't think they're French
They don't think they're French
...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

Oops, and I just deleted it without reading the last post in the threadtuco wrote:That's interesting. The above post was from me and it let me post as a guest.
Sorry.
The ability of guests to post has been fixed too ... I hope - if members have a problem, give a yell. I was messing with things last night and messed up this forum but messed up the un-messing
Richard
I had a good bike ... so I fixed it
