My best was 60km in 90 minutes 34 seconds, which equals 39.9km/h. That was done in last year's Freeway Bike Hike in Perth.

I have to disqualify myself though - my recumbent is not UCI legal! :)

Cheers,
Graeme

sydney to the gong at 32km/h
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/1326178

Lansdowne Crit race at 36.7km/h
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/1494097

If you want a quick ride in sydney, start on the M2 near windsor rd and follow it onto the M7 to the end, sticking to the shoulder the whole way. Its fast going.

The crit would include wheelsucking wouldn't it?

was your sydney to the gong solo?

A 'long 56' for 40 km in the early '90s but that is too long ago to count. About 2 hrs 7 min for a 50 mile TT in 2002, so just over 37 kph. I haven't done any short time trials since then.

yep, wheel sucking in both of those, they were just as a comparising to my earlier post, shows how much more speed you can get with a good wheel suck
My true solo one that i have recorded is 30.X km/h for 75km (2hr 28mins)
I have to go and smash myself solo for 1hr and see what i can do.

Recorded the hour yesterday. 32.17km in 60 minutes. My place in Glenmore Park to Yarramundi on Hawkesbury Rd just at the Skirmish place. Might try a flat ride for next recording.
Yesterday was an easy day.

I think it would be better if the bike type is specified as there would be a significant difference between a standard road bike and a TT bike for example.

Also if people are going to seriously post here, it would also be good if they have their computer calibrated well by doing getting average wheel circumference of their tyre from a weighted 10 rotation distance.

Also if people could post their weight, it would give us idea of the difference in weights versus the differences in speed. I may be wrong about this but believe a bigger person is likely to have a power to wind resistance advantage on a smaller person. The same as when going down hill.

On my commute this morning I was pushing hard, so I decided to keep an eye on the clock to see how many km had passed when I reached the hour mark.

The result was 37.98km

Cool. 8)

In 2 weeks from now, one of my clients will be attempting to break the world age group hour record.
Will keep you posted.

Target to beat is 45.641km. (182.6 laps of DGV)

Must be done on a UCI accredited velodrome so there are no wind/hill advantages and distance is precisely measured based on laps.

Well my best overall is 40kph+ but that was on the Freeway Bike Hike so I don't think that really counts.
Just came back from my first ATTA Time Trial - a 40km effort and remember looking down at the speedo after an hour - 35.4kph.
I'm ashamed to say that I only spent about 4 or 5 pedal revolutions in big ring though  ... I need to work on getting some power in my legs :(
Cheers,
Dave

Who was it who had a crack at it last year?
