FAO Crank : Kalbarri - October

Postby gdl_gdl » Tue Jun 26, 2007 10:26 pm

Not sure if Crank reads this forum but we'll be heading up to Kalbarri during the school holidays in October. I'll be sure to catch up this time.

(I'll have my parents with me (on holiday from the UK) so let me know if you have a spare tandem! )

Cheers,

Gary

Crank does read this forum, but I'll let him know. I'm also planning the trip, but I'm riding.

Are you riding there and back? :D

We're staying in apartments on the front so we're ok for accom! Although after a few days with the rellies I may be knocking on your door!

I'll make sure I have the thorn resistant inner tubes fitted on my hybrid bike before I leave.

My local Mitre10 has thorn proof tubes - worth a look in yours perhaps.

They're independent franchises so they vary a lot but mine has quite a supply of basic cycling bits, just like the old days when most of us bought our gear from the hardware shop, not the bike shops.

Actually, the Mitre10 to which I refer technically isn't my 'local' - my local is 2km away and the routine is to go there first, find they don't have what I want then go an extra 2km to this one who usually has what I want (it's only the oddball they miss out on). The shop closest to me amazes me - they have this huge shop stuffed with stock, yet they never have what I need and the few times I've bought 'something close', I've wound up going to the other one to buy the right item. Bizarre.

Of course, that doesn't happen in Crank's shop does it

Thanks Crank, I used the Kalbarri Entertainment Centre last time (and they fixed my broked spokes as well.) I think the owner sold the business when I was there at Christmas? Assume it's still there?

Cheers,

Gary
