Forums Updated - popular request
Postby AUbicycles » Fri May 01, 2009 5:02 am
1) The profile info in posts is now on the left and post text on the right - this was the most common request and I hope that it everyone likes it.
Just noticing that post previews are a bit disjointed however give me time and we will look into this.
2) Advertising is also now back on the right. I would have liked to have implemented it earlier however it is important not to have annoying advertising in between each single post. The advertising on the right side (like the old forums) was more difficult to implement however it is less annoying. That being said, advertising is important to help cover costs so this is a very balanced solution and if you see something advertised which interests you - then each click helps.
(that being said - repeated 'fake' clicks get discounted so don't get the wrong idea)
Cheers
Christopher

When you leave, don't forget to turn off the light and close the door behind you.Kev365428 wrote:Looks good Chris. I much prefer the profile on the right. Seems easier to read for some reason.

Mmm, it was early in the morning when I posted this, and I seem to have gotten my left mixed up with my right.AUbicycles wrote:When you leave, don't forget to turn off the light and close the door behind you.Kev365428 wrote:Looks good Chris. It looks better with the profile on the LEFT, not the right.
Lights off. Door is shut. Foot removed from mouth.

Shaun, Are using prosilver (newly updated) or one of the other modes?Boognoss wrote:Cool, thanks Chris. I hadn't noticed until this post because the prosilver Special Edition mode hadn't changed. I'm giving prosilver a go again.

That's right, the changes are only on the default interface prosilver.
philip, can you send me a screenshot or post it. There may be some cache issues so try emptying your cache to see if that helps.
I have tested on mac safari / firefox and pc firefox - all looks good with variable (relative) widths.
Note - the prosilver SE template does have a fixed width.
Cheers

Inside your UCP preferences, try out the prosilver SE version and see if you prefer this.
