YAY! Sorry, its just that the past 6 months has taught me to hate derailer gears.

Had a ride on the new trike the other day, the solid tyres were better than I had expected. As for Front Wheel Drive, at this stage I will reserve judgment till after a longer ride. This trike is a very interesting unit, coaster brake plus both rear hubs operated by a single lever. Bob

Checked out YouTube footage, looks good. Is it my imagination or are there a lot of 'bents on the Mid North Coast? We are hoping to be living up there next year. Fixing up old bikes is one thing, don't know how the wife would handle it if I developed a 'bent addiction too!
Good luck, Rob.

G'day Rob, (good name that) yes there seems to be more and more each week, maybe they are breeding. Look us up when you move up here and we will come round and persuade your wife to join in the bent movement.
Robert
PS. the solid tyres feel good on the road, did a couple of Ks today. Now I just need to build up my strength a bit for those hills.

That's a slick looking trike, Drifter. Mobility rigs, both motorized and non, beckon the most interesting projects. Here's one of mine:

Began life at 86 kg, currently at 36 kg. Powered via two Milwaukee 28v cordless drill batteries. An absolute blast to ride.

Looks good, definitely an improvement on the original.
I have an electric hub motor but unsure as to how to wire it up.

If you have these wires, not a red/black, then you need a 3 phase controller. There are effectively 3 windings inside the hub motor which have to be activated in the correct sequence and only when the rotor is in the correct position relative to a whole bunch of internal magnets. So the thick set of wires are for the drive and the thin wires of similar colour are for the internal sensor that indicates where the rotor is relative to the rim. The controller uses the sensor wires to determine which winding to drive.

Most 3-phase controllers will work OK, but some provide better torque than others, I've found. Your local e-bike shop may be able to help you with the appropriate parts.

John R, thanks for the info. I have the hub motor, the speed controller ,the hand throttle control and the wiring loom
to connect the battery but there is something missing, like a junction box ,possibly inside a headlight unit. I don't know
if is 24V or 36V and there is a plug with 9 wires that goes nowhere, possibly for sensors , lights etc. If I connect a battery,
it might even work, but I wanted to be sure before doing that.

Depends, they might go to the controller or they might go to the hall effect throttle. As mentioned, endless-sphere will shed light.

Speaking of homebuilts, here's an interesting delta that'd be very easy to replicate:
