Stage 16

Postby europa » Thu Jul 26, 2007 12:17 am

Marie Blanque is a fairly reasonable climb isn't it

Did you see the depth of the drains? Oh, maybe the people standing in them had been cut off at the thighs

Richard

GO CADEL :D

The funny looking bloke won ... didn't he?

Contatdor (sp?) lost it today. Rasmusen beat him.

Cadel did well on the mountain, which is not his natural home, but I fear he can't find the handful of minutes to beat Rasmusen.

What a stage. What a finish.

Richard

and I hope they're all clean :?

Yes. SBS usually gets these things right but the director tonight must have been smoking that funny looking baccy with the spikey leaves.

Great stage. I'm glad I stayed awake for it. Cadel is an Aussie hero, whether he wins or not.

Yep, well worth staying up for tonight, and the result leaves tomorrow's TT stage potentially extremely important too.

Can Cadel legally find the five minutes or so he needs?

Please, please, make all the drug tests from today and the next few days rigorous and concrete.

It's going to be a fantastic time trial. Rasmussen was tested on the rest day and came up clean. Let's assume he's clean then. The fight for yellow will occur at the time trial. I think Cadel did the best he could to limit his losses today and were the gap between him and Rasmussen smaller, Ras would have been dismayed by Cadel's efforts today. However, Cadel will need a small block chevy V8 to breach that gap in a TT. That won't stop me shouting from the comfort of my arm chair :D

I don't believe it.

Yet another one caught doping. Cristian Moreni from Cofidis was caught for excessive testosterone after the 11th stage.

Cofidis team withdraws.

See the story here

Might have to give up riding if this keeps up. It obviously has a detrimental effect on your common sense.

Kev.

I think the only way that Cadel can win now is if the other 2 get disqualified, or fall off a couple of times in the TT
If the R-1 rule is broken, what happens to N+1?

Half way there.

Contador is a pretty good time trialist though isn't he.

I don't know about 'pretty good' but it'll be hard to find two minutes against him.

Aint no way I'm falling asleep during that tt.
