Liggett - Runaway tain on the road to Paris

Postby Aushiker » Fri Jul 27, 2007 11:44 am

G'day

Phil Liggett has some interesting comments to make in the Australian today.

Cadel's mum is also in the paper today..

The byline is Jeremy Whittle, not Phil Liggett and he doesn't pull any punches either, especially near the end (which I think spoilt a good read but there you go).

I enjoyed Cadel's mum's bit - she's proud of her boy alright.

Is the sport as clean as they say? Dunno, but it's better than the doomsday merchants claim.

I loved the French attitude that they are only doing badly because they are all clean. Yeah, right, and get whollopped every year by clean Aussies who have to shift house half way around the world to train and race.

Good catch. I went off the hardcopy of the paper and missed that Phil Liggett is commenting tomorrow. My apologies for the inaccuracy.

I wouldn't have mentioned it except it's not Phil's style ... which was what made me check the byline. Good read for all that.
