It was certainly fun to watch the way the Predictor Lotto guys were messing with the heads of the Disco boys... Disco got to do all the traditional honourable stuff like lead the yellow jersey onto the Champs etc... and then they basically kept looking over their shoulders for the Predictor guys to do something! Every time the Predictor guys would start to bunch, the Disco boys would do the same... I bet the Predictor guys thought it was hilarious!!
I am glad in a way that nothing happened... the tradition of the tour is important, and from what I can gather there has only ever been one instance of the race being decided in Paris. But I guess if the races are going to be this close year after year, then maybe this agreement might go by the way.
But kudos all round for the truly graceful way that this tour finished. Cadel (d'oh, lack of sleep) probably made more friends by following the traditions of the Tour than if he had gone for it (and ended up looking like an upstart who doesn't 'understand' the race).
So, that's it for another year... time to get my body clock back in order, and see what mistakes I made at work over the last 3 weeks!
