Shimano/Campagnolo compatibility

I have two road bikes : an old restored steel frame set up in Campagnolo-10 speed- and a commuter/rain bike set up in Shimano-9 speed.
The commuter has a set of wheel quite ordinary (shimano WHR 500). I would like to use one of the wheel set that I use on "the Sunday bike" but it has a Campagnolo cassette. I had a little play this arvo and change the 10 speed Campa free wheel into a 9 speed Campa free wheel by removing the biggest cog: no problem there, I fitted it on the bike and after adjusting the rear derailleur, it shifted perfectly : Campa free wheel with a Shimano drive train. .
My question is: if I take the bike for a serious ride (or several), am I set to destroy
a/ the Shimano chain ?
b/a set of Campagnolo cogs ?
c/both of them ?
d/none of them ?

none of the above; it'll likely be fine. Set your indexing correctly on the 4th cog (counting in from smallest) and the variation in cable pull will hardly be noticable.

0.2 mm per cog more for a shimano cassette is the difference, it did not show muchdifference on the shifting this morning when I took it for a ride Thank you very much to all for your imputs.

I have an old (from when I had a Shimano gear bike) DT Swiss Wheel for the Trainer with a fairly used Ultegra cassette. I have been scouting about for some discount campy compatible wheels. Got sick of it, so I put the Shimano wheel and cassette on my Campagnolo Chorus (both 10sp) rig and it works, no problems. I have given it some intervals on the trainer and it doesn't miss a beat.
