Spin Training Aids

Postby cpmooney » Mon Jun 15, 2009 1:11 pm

Recently i bought a basic elite mag trainer to help with my recovery from some surgery i had and since then have upgraded my road bike and decided to join a club and do some competing. So i have been doing some work on my trainer when the weather has been lousy and have looked up different training techniques such as intervals, but i find it very hard to stay motivated/keep a sustained effort even though i have the trainer set up in front of my tv and i have the option of listening to my ipod. So i was looking at some spin training dvds such as the realaxiom ones on PBK, but they are quite expensive when u consider they come in sets with as many as 6 parts, and i dont want to lay out that amount of money on the off chance it works for me, so my question is has anyone used this type of training aid and can give me some advice on ones that worked for them, or am i better on saving my money and buying a training program like the ones advertised in these forums or something different entirely. Any guidance in this matter would be very helpful

there's no way i could do 60-75 mins on a trainer without the use of a dvd like "spinervals" as its too mind-numbing

at ~$40 they're not exactly cheap but a worthwhile investment and the range available is limitless. you'll find something to suit your needs from basic fitness, intervals, hill climbing, time-trialing & V02 max training

do some 3x 10 min intervals at high intensity eg 85 - 90 % max HR. I listen to my ipod, plenty of motivation there for me.

How do I improve my severe/profound sensorineural hearing loss naturally without hearing aids? Has anyone been able to improve their sensorineural hearing loss naturally? I want to hear better without(and with) hearing aids, especially in the high frequencies. What kinds of herbs or medicines can do this? Also what kind of hearing exercises should I do?

You need to do 2x20min intervals at your hearing threshold. I'd recommend starting at 40dB and working your way up from there.
