What type of track racing do you do, and why?
Re: Why get into track racing?
If you need convincing, then you're missing the point.
Re: Why get into track racing?
exactly Ever since the vasectomy...I mostly ride fixed.
Re: Why get into track racing?
haha. I don't need convincing, I need an extra couple of days in the week! I'm a total outsider, was just interested in what you enjoy about it.
hmm, why i choose to do track racing.
many things seem to come to mind 1. The pure adrenaline rush of moving at 60+ km/h inches away from 3 other people 2. The amazement of averaging 50+km/h for a scratch race 3. The contact of shoulders, knee and heads when pushin out when you are boxed in or when someone trys to steal your wheel. and theres heaps more. its just awesome
why do I like track bikes? My storyHi everyone
I like track bike riding because the people who do it are a very cool group of people. Also a lot of the other people in the group are teenagers, and the adults talk to me too. It's because we're all interested in the same thing. I started going to Edwardstown Velodrome (SA) a few months ago, just to watch. Then I had my first race on a track bike and I had to borrow someone else's because I only had a road bike. Then, when my dad saw I was really interested, he bought me an Avanti Pista Pro and a lot of people helped out with things like riding gear. It's a cool sport and the people who do it are cool (and nice). Teenage Bro
Re: Why get into track racing? The crashes are fantastic.
Re: Why get into track racing?try a kierin, now thats the best race
Re: why do I like track bikes? My story
And the obvious reason here is that most road bunches don't like to take teenagers on their long distance training rides for liability reasons. And most parents would also likely to baulk at the idea of their kids riding 80-100km on open roads. So the track is the obvious "safe" enclosure for the juniors until they get their wings. Re: why do I like track bikes? My story
what extra liability is there (over and above any other rider)?
Re: why do I like track bikes? My story
Being a minor. There may not be any extra legal liability but certainly one feels the extra pressure of looking after someone else's junior. Something most people are not comfortable with. Bianchi, Ridley, Montague, GT, Garmin and All things Apple
Re: Why get into track racing?another reason is cheap to have a competitive bike if you compare with others styles, and the must obvius it´s about speed pure speed
Re: Why get into track racing?Just about to start doing some track riding. Look forward to it!

Re: Why get into track racing? It's easier than the road, Ha Ha! Wink, Wink.
I like the speed, and the physics, there nothing wilder than racing in a bunch, coming up to a sprint on a 166m Track, you feel like your upside down, and you loose track of where you are on the track... surreal. Lone Rider- I rode on the long, dark road... before I danced under the lights.
