Yeah I know but knowing my luck they would check . I need a new one for summer anyway as mine is lacking in the cooling department especially on climbs.twizzle wrote:It's not a competition, there won't be any helmet checks.HAKS wrote:Not yet, i havn't got a AU certified helmet. Don't know how many peaks I will be doing - 42 small chainwheel is too big for hills as I found out doing the Cotter/Uriara loop on Mon. Daughter was on her TCR Advancved 1 but I still beat her. Will try to get a 39 before the ride.

I'll be running 34/25. I've done BM in 39/25, but the cadence was way too low.

Last year I did it on the Hybrid and had a pannier that I carried much of my mates gear in, bananas etc. etc.

Twizzle - are you riding the Bennett? I bought a SuperSports new in the late seventies (dark blue) - in the early eighties I worked in a bike shop for a little while and the Bennett ended up with Shimano 600 and alloy everything. Might still be around Canberra.

You could try call or e-mail, but I'd suggest just take the receipt with you on the day as proof. You'll need to pickup a wrist band, maps, brevet card etc anyways....DarrylH wrote:Having paid my money, I was expecting some reply in the mail re this ride. Has anyone received confirmation of entry or do we just turn up on the day to collect the cards ets?

Ride all winter in Canberra and stay healthy - spend two days in Sydney and pick up some bug.

The forecast did not look pleasant and it was starting to sprinkle as I headed out so I turned the car around and came home.
Fingers crossed the weather is more pleasant next weekend so I can give the route a go and maybe have a crack at all five peaks.

I hate descending the 5peaks in dry weather so can't imagine what it would have been like today.

Not bad at all, considering the conditions. But must have been fun coming down those mountains in the wet!Bantam Roosta wrote:Final stats from the ride:
