She's mine, mine, mine, aaalllllll mine...
Postby inaminit » Wed Aug 29, 2007 9:13 am
After a long, painful, but thoroughly enjoyable deliberation, I lashed out yesterday and bought myself a new LeMond Tourmalet.
I new they were a good looking bike from the pics online, but when I met her in person yesterday, we'll lets just say it was love at first sight, and after a 45min test ride, I just knew she was the one for me!!!
The only change the LBS had to make was a shorter stem (was 120mm I think, now 100mm) and it feels like a great fit.
I took her out for a 20km ride this morning and I'm pained to say that I have to take her back to the LBS for some minor surgery. about 2km from home, her front derailler decided it didn't want to shift down anymore. Probably just a bit of cable stretch, but I'll get her checked out anyway.
I'll post a pic or two when she returns.

I got a hell of a lot more bike for the money this time round. I've still got the old Giant, she's pretty much original, and has now been assigned the milk run duties.
It'd be great, but I doubt i'll get the same life from the new girl.

Seems I may have pushed a bit too hard on the shifter! It's my first time using the STI's and will take a bit of getting used to.
Anyway, as promised here are a couple of pics, unfortunately they don't do her justice, now matter how many pics I took she still looks 100% better in the flesh!
Thought I'd better include one with the bike lock. If you can get past the lock you can have the bike!!!!

Photobucket is good. No matter how big it starts out, just reduce it to their webboard setting and it fits in nicely - seems to be a pretty smooth reduction too.inaminit wrote:It's been a loooong day...just ignore my apology...was able to get it to the right size in photobucket after all.
As for that bike lock, sure he doesn't sleep on the job?
Nice grid ya got there

Actually I think she'd probably just yawn and say take it! Either that or eat the thing.
I woke up this morning and she'd picked up one of my bike shoes and was using it as a pillow! Thankfully no teeth marks, just an awful lot of drool.

Sorry, the dog lover in me raised a huge cackle of laughter with this one. Gotta love your dogs, best mates you'll ever have.inaminit wrote:I woke up this morning and she'd picked up one of my bike shoes and was using it as a pillow! Thankfully no teeth marks, just an awful lot of drool.

My daughter gets jealous when I introduce Bella the dog as "my baby girl", so to reassure her she's still no.1 in my books, I say to her "well thats ok can introduce you as my baby girl too", to which I get the inevitable 15 year olds reply of "shuddup".

I haven't even thought about a name for her yet. Let you know when something comes to mind.

It's actually Metallic Red Pearl according to LeMond.stryker84 wrote:... is that a pink bike?!
The combination of an old camera, less than adequate photographer, and the brilliant sunlight shimmering off her gleaming new duco....makes it look a very masculine shade of pink.

Only had her for a day but must say it's one hell of a bike!gsxrboy wrote:My sisters man looked at one of these todays, he was quite impressed with it. He is looking to upgrade from his mtb as well. I started a trend in the family !
If he's keen make sure he haggles on the price, they're on sale at the moment, but he should be able to squeeze a bit more out of his LBS.
