WTS:Perth: Campagnolo Pista 165 Crank Arm (drive side only)

Postby jaseyjase » Wed Nov 11, 2009 12:31 am

Guess this is as good as time as any to try out the 'auction' method.

Reserve Price: $50
Instant Buy: $200
End Date: Sunday 15.11.2009 9pm UTC+10 ( i guess thats Australian Eastern Standard)
Location: Perth
Shipping: $20 Australia wide.

Item: Campagnolo Record (i think, please correct me if im wrong) 165 Pista drive side crank 151 BCD.
Comments: Good condition, see pictures, will take more detailed ones tonight. I thought i should let it go to a more deserving home :)

Ooh ooh - can I be the first to ask about shipping to Liberia? :D
Will be interesting to see if the auctions are going to work - good luck!

Welcome mate, but as Roger pointed out, you need to put a bid in champ, above the reserve, and above the last posted bid. Or you can post the 'buy it now' price and be done with it

I am now going to sit on the fence, pretend to be bored, and wait until the last moment before begrudgingly putting in a higher bid.

roger, youve done all the hard work with the first opening bid

too bad you cant use the bid sniper things on this forum, it'll be interesting to see how many last minute/last second posts there will be

As there is no autobid mechanism, it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

are we going to have people bidding on things they don't want, purely because of the thrill of it? :?
think its doomed for failure myself, but lets see.

I also think the forum should stick to straight sales, and leave auctions to the ebays of the world. If you want (maybe) the best possible price, ebay it. If you want to sell it easily/quickly and for a fair price, figure out what you want and put a fixed price on it. You can always invite offers. That way you also get the highest price a person is willing to pay, rather than the price the second highest bidder is prepared to pay, plus $1.

Just my thoughts.

id have to agree with you both you boys, auctions should be left to ebay, and i think straight sales are the way to go. Guess this thread will be the guniea pig :D

Well, it's a little past 9 here in perth, just checking if anyone was confused and bidded before 9pm perth time.

Anyhoo, looks like spirito came in with a $75 at 6.47pm, im assuming thats eastern standard time and not perth time that im looking at.

So Spirito, pm'ing you know champ, if mods have any issues with how this auction went, let me know.

cheers jase.
