The local Bike Hub on Honour Ave has started organising rides during the week. You just need to stop in and ask. Either that or ride down to the bottom of Graceville Ave at about 6am on a Sat/Sun morning and wait for a bunch to go past. You'll probably end up waiting for about 5 minutes!
There are plenty of other groups that start from various points around River Loop as well (e.g. Dolce Vita in Park Rd)
The great thing about being in Graceville is that you are right on top of the River Loop ride and not far from Mt Coot-tha and Mt Nebo.
Compared to Sydney (I ride in both cities regularly), Brisbane is much better for riding.
There are also some great events like the Coot-tha Challenge and Bris - Gold Coast.
Good luck.

Depends, of course on what sort of riding you want to do, and where you will be living.Romper wrote:I'm moving to Graceville, Brisbane at the end of this year and I wondering what club to join where to ride etc.
In addition to above suggestions, check out - Brisbane Bicycle Touring Association,, also more shop rides such as Lifecycle Bike shop
There are racing clubs, such as Balmoral Club, also Hamilton Pine River Wheelers, also University, and others that i am struggling to remember at this hour of night.
Hope that helps and regards,
Steve

If you want Social riding, do a google on "centenary bikeways group", or cbg. They are based around Jindalee and have rides every Saturday and Sunday. A very good group.
If you want road racing, there is Hamilton Pine Rivers Wheelers, and daylight to the rest. Google them too. You can register for their weekly Email newsletter.
I was a participant with CBG when I lived in Brisbane, but regretably joined another racing club before I discovered the quality of the HPRW organisation.

The wheelers look pretty go to be honest but their ages away, I think I'll probably join University because all of their rides start close to where I'll be and they seem regular events. Unless anyone has a good reason why I shouldn't
Thanks

No junior development program thing, and most of the others seem to have one.
