Seller has been away from Ebay for nearly 2 years, with some personal matters. If you think Casanova9898 has some awesome stuff, this guy will leave him for dead. I once saw him sell an unused Campagnolo 50th Anniversary groupset, in the suitcase, with the seal still unbroken, so no-one had even looked at the parts. I actually bought some great stuff off him several years ago. Looking forward to lots more awesome goodies.im_no_pro wrote:Driven??ebay listing wrote:So the bike was driven ONLY a few miles.
Edit: just realised its in deutschland so probably ESL. Thought it was in US at first.

I sold an immaculate, similarly specced Repco 'Triathlete' (or something like that) last year for more than that 'B.I.N' price. 500 Exage was the precursor to '105', I believe, and you can pay over $1000 fior a new Tange Infinity frame and fork these days - check Soma Delancey, for examplefamilyguy wrote:Speaking of mis-identification:

Where do people pull these prices from?? Srsly?? It makes the one I bought nearly three years ago for $57 seem like an underpriced bargain...
Jim
And where's the "mis-identification" ? Seems like an honest enough description to me. 'Sid Patterson Cycles' was around till about ten years ago in the inner SE Melburbs where this bike is located, and they added their moniker to heaps of bicycles

Yes, new. Not over 20 years old, with an unknown history. The Sport DLX frames generally had hi-ten forks and stays, and only Infinity main tubes. Tre-Tubi anyone?kukamunga wrote:I sold an immaculate, similarly specced Repco 'Triathlete' (or something like that) last year for more than that 'B.I.N' price. 500 Exage was the precursor to '105', I believe, and you can pay over $1000 fior a new Tange Infinity frame and fork these days - check Soma Delancey, for example
Maybe I overreact, but I just lose faith in people who cant transcribe what is written clearly on the downtube without a spelling error. Call me old fashioned...kukamunga wrote:And where's the "mis-identification" ? Seems like an honest enough description to me. but really, that's rubbish. We get none of it because the choices are illusory.

Yep. Insert a "Helicoil" and away you go. Could do it yourself very cheaply, or a shop could do it for you for well under $100 including parts.zues wrote:Seriously -would it be worthwhile reaming it out and putting in some inserts

It still is over priced, my bet is that it will get passed in again, I think a fare price for this is a about $1500 and thats still steep for most!
It should be in a museum.

Asking the wrong person mate, wouldn't have the faintest.
A Holland (similar weight wise I'd say) dragster frame weighs a fair bit. The wheels an all that are pretty damn heavy.
Dunno.

Peugeot Mixte 2
I have two of these in the shed, one doesnt have wheels the other is complete. Might be time to clean em up methinks.....

Frankly, compared to the expensive ladies' basket bikes on eBay (most of which are Repco Travellers), the Peugeot Mixtes look both stylish and cheap. I could definitely see my significant other on one of these.im_no_pro wrote:Holy Crap!!

Also true. My first thought was..... sell both.... get a good way towards the set of soul wheels I have been eyeing off for some timeJohnj wrote:Frankly, compared to the expensive ladies' basket bikes on eBay (most of which are Repco Travellers), the Peugeot Mixtes look both stylish and cheap. I dont normally post in this section but was about to in regards to this same listing as it is sooo wrong.
Suitable for track use? Surely misleading info like this shouldnt be allowed?
Got to love the 'track' cranks on it.
