I can understand why it was locked and am more then happy to trust the mods with regard to following the guidelines.

I don't understand the concept behind 'hot chicks on bikes'. Why wasn't it ladies in general on bikes? I don't want to force my views on people, but I honestly believe that all people are beautiful, so singling out a section for their 'hotness' (what ever that means) is hugely insulting to everybody, including the 'hot' people' they have to suddenly put up with people mentally "doin' 'em" them, etc. Poor form. Loved the picture of Dreadd

I think the real reason for locking the thread was that in none of the photos the ladies are wearing helmets, and someone was just too concerned it could have turned into another “Not wearing a Helmet is good for cycling thread!”

While i consider myself a connoisseur of the (cycling) female form, i tend to swing towards agreeing with the mods decisions.

Probably wasn't the right forum for this thread to be found on.

So, correct me if i am wrong....

We are not allowed to post pictures of girls on bikes in a thread dedicated to girls on bikes,
only because someone could potentially post a reply (picture) that is not within the guidelines???

I am sorry , but if you want to aplly that logic, you can not have a forum at all, al threads have to potential to be
used for posting a reply that is not within the guidelines...

And what if somebody does put a picture that is not within the guidelines...
The mod can simply delete it??
But on no wait....that means that the mod has to keep an eye on that thread, that is a lot of work isn't it.....

Don't get me wrong , i don't feel the need for this thread, but closing it out of fear...
I don't agree with that, sorry...

If this forum doesn't stay G rated, I can't come here in good conscience anymore. I have a family behind me who watches what I do from time to time. I don't visit the BV forums and others for that reason.

There are plenty of 'girls on bikes' threads in other places: a quick search brings up BV forums, and Bikeradar (honest, for research purposes  )

I want to be able to leave this forum open on my desktop, not be worried about what my family will see. This is a nice, safe, family friendly part of the internet... at least, in terms of pictures :)

Is that thread not 'g' rated at the moment then?
is the thread in it's currents state offensive??

In my opinion , no.

if you lock it when it is offensive or not g-rated anymore, that's a different story.
But locking it before it gets to that point is not something i do not agree with.

Sharing pictures of people on bikes , male or female is not a bad thing.
There are plenty of pictures of people riding bikes even on this on this forum.
and considering a lot of them do wear lycra, that could also be offensive...
2 random pictures that can also be labelled as 'hot' or 'offensive'
i know the picture are not written in that context, but the pictures itself is not different to the others.

so where do you draw the line ??

It doesn't matter where I draw the line. It matters where Christopher draws the line as it is his forum. He makes the rules. Depending on what those rules are and how the moderators police them dictates the type and number of people who visit here. My post was just a statement of my position.

Mods made the right call. The BV thread that was mentioned is a good example of where it would have led: sexist, sexualised, and demeaning.

No thanks on all counts.

Ladies don’t think like men, we don’t need hot blokes on bikes. We are wired differently. More like what is your gross income per year. Address, do you have water views, what kind of car do you drive. Looks are last on a women mind when all the above criteria are met. Even the ugliest man on earth will be attractive with those credentials

Deep! Could you describe the sliding scale of net worth and attractiveness?

For example, how much would Ron Boswell or Wilson Tuckey need?

OMGosh a hell of a lot. Bill Gates kind of money , it is doable.
Men have to judge women for who they are right now; it is part of his assets. It is the hot guys on bikes who judge by potential earnings because it will be there future potential earnings. 8)
