I am doing Ironman teams event in Busselton in a week.
I am Planning to go 4hr and 30 mins (40km avg)
So far this year I have done 41km State TT in 57min, 82km State TT in 1:58 and a week later did 160km state TT in 4:10
the 80k and 160k was the first TT at that distance
So at 1 week out, I feel more ready for this event than all these put together
We look to have a team to go 8:30 for the event
The coarse is one of the fastest IM in the world, apparently
Will do a 40km Hilly TT comp this weekend just to get focused
I now hope the puncture Gods are with me on the day and the support/crowd at the event inspire me to reach this goal
Will be doing it on a 5 year alloy Cervelo P3 with 90mm Pro-lites, skinsuit and areo helmet.
I plan to use 8-9 gels with 1solid bar and go thru 5-6 bottles (this could be depending on the pass out at aid stations)
with around 1400 competitors on a 60km bike lap. I also ned to stay out of trouble around corners and careful thought put in the overtaking/chase and keeping the right pace with drafting regs.
I will let you know on my and my teams progress / Result
Regards
Troy

Hope everything goes to plan and good luck next week. I'll be away but sure to check out the results as soon as they come in
BTW you may want to chuck a couple bananas in your back pocket to mix it up a bit!

Ok, Looking back Did OK
180.2k in 4:48, not what i was aiming for, but on hot day and a "unhelpful" winds
out of 110 team 99 finished
our team 9:14 ,2nd overall
I got 2nd fastest bike time and a time to put me into pro Ironman times for the day
A real hard day on the bike, great event to be apart of, but will go back to do the individual ironman one day!!!
Regards
