Hi If you want the progress bar in your signature, please click here to set it up. Thanks to Philip for doing this.Getting near that time to start a new thread for the 2010 ACF Bike Journal "Fit" Gits on Bikes Fun comp. We started this in 2008 and it ran well in 2009, so here is the 2010 thread. The rules remain pretty much as per 2009 and are repeated below: These are some "rules" for 2010... (1) Outside rides only please (2) The Prize winner (official winner of the competition) can only be an active member of the forum (i.e., joined the forums before July 1, 2010 and have at least 12 postings before July 1, 2010) and must be a premium member of BikeJournal no later than July 1, 2010;(3) Rankings as at December 31, 2010 determined by the primary club rankings (My Club at BJ) (4) If you want to join in, you are most welcome. If you are not already in the competition, you need to wave your hand here in this thread as well as join the Australian Cycling Forums Club (your primary club) at Bike Journal as the Club is for active forumites. I check the Club for new members when I log my rides, so If I don't see your name in this thread, you will get removed (an email explains this). This can be easily fixed by waving your hand in this thread and rejoining the Club; (5) To remain in the Club you need to be an active forum member, this club is for forum members after all. Membership is reviewed regularly and non-active members of the forum will be removed. If this happens to you maybe you should consider joining a more suitable club. (6) Please play fair and log your rides regularly so your fellow competitors now what they are up against (7) The prize winner's journal on BikeJournal.com should be viewable by the public/other club members, i.e., premium members. The journal must be viewable from at the latest July 1, 2010, i.e., the prize winner must be a premium member no later than July 1, 2010;(8) Prize for the winner will a jersey as per the 2008 and 2009 competitions. Oh do join in any time. You just need to sign up at BikeJournal.com and select Australian Cycling Forum as your Club and of course post here please. Oh, one other change from 2009. The Club is now called the Australian Cycling Forums Club which reflects the forum name. Enjoy .... Andrew

I reckon I'll have another go at 7500km next year. I'll end up on about 6300km this year, well below, but I missed a few weeks through injury.

I will sign up for 12k this year, even though in 2009 I did not even reach half my goal. My thinking is that I will be building up the k's for the PAP1200 in October so they should rack up fairly quickly. Here's to a good year.

Looking at a lower total next year. Aiming for 12,000k's and the trick will be enforcing that. Martin

I've signed up to Bike Journal but I'll contemplate my target over the next few weeks - I want to get the cycle/life balance right, especially since my fiancee (soon to be wife - getting married in a month) isn't in to cycling.

Have signed up for this. Having just returned to the bike after a few years off I will have to work out a target for the new year. Will help keep the motivation up.

Hi If you are signing up for the first time and your user name as posted here is different and you don't tell me, please don't be surprised if your get removed from the Club at BikeJournal. I can't read minds and link different user names The email will explain what to do (this thread or the 2009 one will do for the notification posting). Thanks Andrew

It's goodbye from me and all the best to the combatents in next year's comp. Medical authorities warn that Bike Journal can lead to obsessive compulsive disorder, less than optimal training programs, repetitive strain injury and possible acute family life imbalance.

Yes I did the bike journal bit a few days ago in prep for 2010, assuming I am allowed to ride any distance. Just want to let you know that and not to delete me as a club member, though my id is pretty unique

I'm in (again) for 12000km. Hopefully I'll get there and won't have to drop it to stay in front of Philip's little red triangle.
Bring on 2010.

I'm keen to go again in 2010. Think I'll stick with the 11,000 target I had this year. (Failed dismally due to the 5 months off the bike , but had been ahead of target up til then.)

You don't enter the target in the Journal site...the target is just a thing we are doing in addition to add interest
