2010 ACF BIKE JOURNAL "Fit" Gits on Bikes Fun Comp
Postby Aushiker » Tue Dec 22, 2009 11:45 am
If you want the progress bar in your signature, please click here to set it up. Thanks to Philip for doing this.
Getting near that time to start a new thread for the 2010 ACF Bike Journal "Fit" Gits on Bikes Fun comp. We started this in 2008 and it ran well in 2009, so here is the 2010 thread.
The rules remain pretty much as per 2009 and are repeated below:
These are some "rules" for 2010...
(1) Outside rides only please
(2) The Prize winner (official winner of the competition) can only be an active member of the forum (i.e., joined the forums before July 1, 2010 and have at least 12 postings before July 1, 2010) and must be a premium member of BikeJournal no later than July 1, 2010;
(3) Rankings as at December 31, 2010 determined by the primary club rankings (My Club at BJ)
(4) If you want to join in, you are most welcome. If you are not already in the competition, you need to wave your hand here in this thread as well as join the Australian Cycling Forums Club (your primary club) at Bike Journal as the Club is for active forumites. I check the Club for new members when I log my rides, so If I don't see your name in this thread, you will get removed (an email explains this). This can be easily fixed by waving your hand in this thread and rejoining the Club;
(5) To remain in the Club you need to be an active forum member, this club is for forum members after all. Membership is reviewed regularly and non-active members of the forum will be removed. If this happens to you maybe you should consider joining a more suitable club.
(6) Please play fair and log your rides regularly so your fellow competitors now what they are up against
(7) The prize winner's journal on BikeJournal.com should be viewable by the public/other club members, i.e., premium members. The journal must be viewable from at the latest July 1, 2010, i.e., the prize winner must be a premium member no later than July 1, 2010;
(8) Prize for the winner will a jersey as per the 2008 and 2009 competitions.
Oh do join in any time. You just need to sign up at BikeJournal.com and select Australian Cycling Forum as your Club and of course post here please.
Oh, one other change from 2009. The Club is now called the Australian Cycling Forums Club which reflects the forum name.
Enjoy ....
Andrew

If you are signing up for the first time and your user name as posted here is different and you don't tell me, please don't be surprised if your get removed from the Club at BikeJournal. I can't read minds and link different user names The email will explain what to do (this thread or the 2009 one will do for the notification posting).
Thanks
Andrew

Medical authorities warn that Bike Journal can lead to obsessive compulsive disorder, less than optimal training programs, repetitive strain injury and possible acute family life imbalance.

You have to sign yourselves up to Bike Journal, I can't not do that for you. nickobec you are already a member of the Club I believe.
You are only asked to post here, so I can associate your user name to the Club and hence not remove you

Yes I did the bike journal bit a few days ago in prep for 2010, assuming I am allowed to ride any distance.Aushiker wrote: nickobec you are already a member of the Club I believe.
Just want to let you know that and not to delete me as a club member, though my id is pretty unique

Just renewed Andrew, and affiliated myself with ACF. My BJ username is Eyman, not ve safari.Aushiker wrote:nickobec wrote:Sign me up I will start with a modest targetHive safari wrote:Sign me up please. Have ridden 2500km this year, targeting to ride 6000km in 2010.

This seems like a great idea.
I will start the bike journal for the first time in 2010.
I will aim for about 2500km.
Thanks,
Will

Think I'll stick with the 11,000 target I had this year.
(Failed dismally due to the 5 months off the bike , but had been ahead of target up til then.)
