Here you go - this has been cut out of a bigger picture so it's not the bestest.

Image

What you can't see is that the trail of the barend is flat for the pad at the base of your hand to rest on. When gripped, the end of the bar is essentially in the palm of your hand. They work well.

Nice one Falcon, you'll have a hard time breaking one of those

You need to join a hosting site like photobucket to post piccies, easy as. They even provide a direct link to copy/paste into messages for you 8)

Don't forget to resize your images. Photobucket does it for you ... if you click on 'edit'. You're looking for the Webboard size (640xsomething).

OMGosh, it's CLEAN

Nice unit. :D

I'm pretty sure my son's mtb has the Tektro's ... but maybe not. He's got the bike at a mate's place so I can't tell. The Tektro are an honourable brand, don't worry about them.

Tektros are a pretty generic brand, my $2000 road bike has Tektro brakes and my Trek S500 has Tektro levers, there's nothing wrong with them they just aren't special, but not too low end either.

Now you need to hit some trails and make it dirty. ;)

Dunno 'bout Tektro discs Falcon, but their rim brakes, (caliper and V) are damn good stoppers for the bucks. Both my old MTBs had them and the Roadie has them too, never a drama.

Cable discs. You will have to keep an eye on them to adjust out cable stretch and pad wear, no biggie, say five minutes every few weeks, give us a yell if you need a hand :)

Go easy eh? It's bloody hard keeping up with you touchtypers when you're in a chatty mood. I'll get there

I can only type at 140 wpm. I think Richard is faster than me :D I learn't to touch type in the 70s at school on an old mechanical typewriter. I was the only male to take typing  I must have known that I would have become an IT engineer at some stage in the future.

yeah, go the GT's!

congrats on the buy man, esp (AT) that price!

tho i daresay that by the time winter comes round (or if u go out riding a muddy track), u'll be losing those mud guards, as they'll end up either:

1) givin u the $hits
2) become warpped or broken
3) cake up with mud

on the other hand, if ur just ridin gravel trails and commuting, then no dramas

good stuff man, happy ridin

Dem's da critters ... but when you find they're horrid, blame Mitch, not me eh?

Nah, I think they'll suit you because you've already expressed satisfaction with your flat bars. All these do is give you a bit more width and turn your wrist through 90 degrees - there's no change in height. If you have trouble getting them, I'll go back to the shop I got mine from and see if he has some more - won't be hard to post them over.
