I've entered the state Tri series and we had the first race yesterday in near perfect conditions. 750 meter swim, 20k ride and a 5k run. With 88 entrants the transition area and getting a good run out of the transition was important to bike racking was important.
Our team finished 4th, we were 40th off the bike after my ride. it was a 5k circuit, the turn at the 2.5k mark. The road was fairly narrow so the turn was really tight, I came into one turn and nearly lost the rear wheel.
I had a goa of 33mins or under and I lost that goal, bit disappointed but there was a slight headwind on the return lap of the circuit.
Distance 20.80kms
Time 35:19
Avg Speed 35.33 kmh
Max Speed 41.49
Avg Heart Rate 171
Max heart Rate 184
Cadence 93
I still need a pair of aero bars, also a set of carbon wheels would be nice!

Saw a bit of that on the news, nice going Rob an average of 35 on your own is pretty damn good imo. I cant run and would struggle with the swim. Doing all that will keep you real fit though, good on yer
cheers

Hi
Well done Rob. That average sounds pretty good to me. You mention a "team" so I assume you only do the bike leg. Is that right?
Regards
Andrew

I did my first tri in january at Kurnell, Sydney. A mate has been bugging me for over a year to do it.RobRollin wrote:750 meter swim, 20k ride and a 5k run.
Swim 750m - 00:24:45*
Ride 20km - 00:36:42
Run 5km - 00:24:03
I was 77th out of 80 after the swim, 36th after the cycle and 58th at the end.
Didn't have anything left for the run it seems.
They're fun but I don't think I'll be doing any more of them. I just don't have the time to do the training required.
*6 weeks before the event I couldn't swim 50m
