Some of Track Sabbath may turn up… although I estimate there’s going to be about 8000+ people there.

Now you know. LA has been popping up these mass rides through his Twitter account for a while now, so no surprise that he'd do one in Adelaide. Shame that he'll be on a private jet and won't make a stop in Sydney on his return. He doesn't know what he will miss. ;)

I would push Lance off his bike and say "Stay down" :)

and I would do that because I couldn't keep up with him otherwise :)
Kicked a black cat? Sounds more like ran over one, backed over it, hunted down its mother and did the same.

given the choice, would you rather share the roads with a woman texting in her four-wheel-drive, a manic truckie, a boy in a grey-import turbo, or a cyclist?

If you ignore the informality of Twitter for a moment and consider the route, then it looks organised to me. There's room at the reserve for many thousands of people, the route up the coast is pretty much dual carriageway most of the way, etc. Not sure that much else is needed, beyond alerting the Orange Spot bakery to continuously run the ovens for 24 hours beforehand :-)

So Lance has said that anyone can come on any kind of bike. So I'd take that as meaning its not going to be a hard core training ride. Just a publicity dawdle where everyone gets to feel good cos they rode with Lance, and the Livestrong brand gets some more free publicity. I might turn up on my folding bike and "Poseur" Jersey- my only chance to stand out in the crowd and perhaps get spotted by Sir Lancelot and Prince Robbie. You'd assume the route will head north along the beach and LA's tweets indicate a ride of about an hours duration.

The only bikes that we have are bmx... we'd love to ride with Lance and Robbie but we are going to be dwarfed. How bout they come out to 'the Cove' to the track and see how we go... love to have him try our sport !! The track is in great shape for the State Championships and there are a lot of riders going to be there for the Metro Series races on sunday.
We'll be there with our gear on for Saturday... I hope that they can find us Sunday.

Im sure they would handle that quite well since Im fairly sure Robbie has a very good bmx background. (I seem to recall he was age group national champ or something when younger). Would still be awesome to see them do it

ABC local radio (891AM) had a news item saying the local council was putting shade and additional toilets in the reserve.

Should we have a sweep for the attendance? I'll go 4,000.

Far too many for me to contemplate joining in.

Don't need to have a potential accident only 6 days prior to Stage 4.

[wishful thinking] 550 [\wishful thinking]

Will go for 5,500.

Which source will be the "official" count, given they will all be pure guesses?

Sunday Mail? If so, I revise my entry to 11,500 to take the 'hysteric reporting' factor into account.....
