Asides from probike kit can anyone suggest good (read cheap) websites that sell bike parts, such as groupsets etc? ie in the US as the exchange rate is so good.

have used T7 a few times for bits & pieces, and will return. Groupsets don't seem to be an option from them.

Checked their prices on some components, seem a bit more expensive than PBK, but cheaper than local!

Chain reaction are very good - cheap (better than Pbk and Torpedo7 for the stuff I buy ... but largely because they're more likely to have it ). Shipping is fast and secure ... and you don't get as many bits of paper as you do with Torpedo7 (if they reduced their paperwork to one sheet, they'd make a huge profit).

The 'not in stock' problem can be interesting - depends on the practices of both the seller and the distributor I guess. I bought my Brooks from Chain Reaction. It was out of stock when I placed the order. They sent an email telling me they were out of stock, then another telling me when it was in stock and had been shipped - the delay was only two or three days. In this case, Chain Reaction did the right thing, but I guess it also depends on how quickly they can get the stock.

Flebay can be quite good. It is a puddle full of sharks and the creatures they feed off of course (ie, us ), but there are some interesting bargains there, and some rip offs - there's a bloke selling Shimano SPD-L pedals for more than you can buy them at PBK at the moment And I was interested to note that in the week following Torpedo7 putting Exauster (sp?) shoes on special, someone was selling quite a few of them with a starting price that would cover the purchase from T7, postage to Oz plus the ebay fees. Am I being too cynical? Probably. But there seem to be a steady supply of blokes buying a bike and updating immediately, then selling off the unused 'new' bits in an attempt to recoup their losses - a good source of lower priced parts.

There are a lot of apparently very cheap bits coming out of Indonesia at the moment. They aren't the sort of thing I've been in the market for so I can't comment on them or the service - something to look out for? Or something to 'look out for'?

Just got a Shimano Ultegra rear compact cassette & Ultegra chain delivered in Australia for only $8.00 more than the best price I could get for the cassette on it's own in Australia.

Bought them out of Hong Kong off fleebay, I had very good communication with the seller to the point I believe he is very reputable & his extensive feedback would definately support that.

Seller appears to have extensive stock of large variety of parts.

No I do not have any connection but I am happy to give his details if requested.

If you ever do have troubles shortening a link, give a yell please. I'm not aware of any reason why one can't be and would like to know if someone does throw up a problem. One thing I've noticed (especially with images), is that you can't afford to have extra spaces or carriage returns in front of or behind the link - quite often you're not aware of them until you do a preview (something I've learnt to use a lot ).

Now the seller - busy pussycat isn't he, and with a good reputation (though I'm now rather cynical about good reps). Thanks for the tip.

As they say Richard, caveat emptor, but I can only repeat that my experience, albeit only once, was very good & I would certainly use him again.
