team GB not team sky kit very popular on freeway PSP
Postby nickobec » Wed Jan 13, 2010 4:13 pm
The first two had identical red CF bikes (not close enough to see if they where Pinnies) and probably the same pair I saw on Monday. The third, on a similar CF bike but blue.
*** realised it was team GB sponsored by Sky TV so editted title to reflect that 25 Jan 2010 ****

That explains it, Team GB colour with SKY plastered over them and they looked like track riders - ie people you do not want to mess with. No scrawny climbers there.Dunk wrote:The GB track team is in town at the moment - I'm assuming they are still sponsored by Sky.

Did not see any this morning but did sit behind 4 young fit guys doing a recovery ride on some very expensive kit this morning
On the way home did see one team GB kit heading into town, looked like a lot of riding into the doctor and was heading back.

A few pics on the Star Physio WA Facebook page.
Caption from one photo.
Check out Star Physios Todd Lonie and Tara West with British cycling golden couple, triple Olympic gold medallist Jason Kenny and Olympic gold medallist Laura Trott
Guessing you probably don't want to take these guys on

Also the Meyer brothers plus Luke Durbridge from GreenEdge are around, knocking out crits and TTs.

Yep saw 4 of these guys yesterday on the Midland PSP at East Perth heading towards the city about 4.30.Troy C wrote:The whole GB track team is here including Sir Chris Hoy, the are training at the speed dome 4 days a week and obviously out and about on the road and paths. Cameron, Travis and Luke are here for xmas with family and getting ready for the National Road Champs and TDU. The 3 have been racing Crits and TT. with (as expected) good results.
OMGosh they looked impressive in that kit. Very distracting driving past

Ah yeah, that must have been them I passed at Mt Lawley station. I was too busy puffing my way up the 'hill' there to pay much notice. They did seem very relaxed.wagr1213 wrote:Yep saw 4 of these guys yesterday on the Midland PSP at East Perth heading towards the city about 4.30.Troy C wrote:The whole GB track team is here including Sir Chris Hoy, the are training at the speed dome 4 days a week and obviously out and about on the road and paths. Yes chances are guys they're riding bikes, so are you people do see people!
They're here training because, don't quote me on this one, the head coach at WAIS used to coach team GB mark cavendish ect so they've got an agreement that athletes can go and train. They're everywhere with their pinarellos, I saw them in Midland while heading to the track then later at the track session monday night and multiple times around the place. They sure stand out.
